Permanent makeup removal (laser) for men

A discreet touch-up — no trace anything was done

For men, PMU is most often brows and beard/line density enhancement, less often eyeliner. The goal is usually simple: discreetly get rid of an effect that turned out too "done" or unnatural in colour — with no trace that anything was corrected. This is PMU removal for men.

When it's worth it — indications

  • Brows that have changed colour — pigment can drift into grey, pink, reddish or green tones over time and stop looking natural.
  • Poorly done or asymmetric PMU — an eyeliner that's too thick, brows set too low, shape asymmetry.
  • A shape that no longer suits you — trends in brow or eyeliner shape have changed, but the makeup stayed "old style".
  • Pigment migration — pigment has spread beyond the intended outline (common with lips and eyeliner).
  • Preparation for new PMU — lightening old pigment so the artist has a clean base for a new design.
  • Wanting to stop altogether — returning to natural brows, lips or eyes without permanent makeup.

The areas we work on

  1. brow PMU that looks too strong or has a "cold" tone;
  2. correcting beard density / line enhancement when the pigment has changed colour;
  3. lightening before possible new, more natural makeup;
  4. complete removal and a return to natural appearance.

A discreet touch-up — no trace anything was done

Permanent makeup for men is most often brows or beard/line density enhancement. The goal is usually simple: to look natural, well-groomed and effortless — without the impression that anything was done. When pigment changes colour over time, becomes too dark, takes on a cool tone, or looks unnatural in daylight, laser removal is the route back to a look that simply works.
The Q-Switch Nd:YAG laser breaks down pigment sitting in the skin into microscopic fragments — your body clears them gradually between sessions. The effect builds slowly and discreetly: no one sees that you've done anything — they just see that you look better.

What we remove most often for men

  • Brow PMU — pigment has turned grey, taken on a cool or overly dark tone, and looks too "drawn on" compared to natural skin. Goal: removal or lightening before a new, softer design.
  • Correcting beard density enhancement / beard or moustache line — when the pigment has changed colour, or the result turned out too strong and unnatural.
  • Eyeliner / permanent eyeliner — less common, but touch-up or full removal requests happen here too.
  • Complete removal and a return to natural appearance — no permanent makeup at all.

What the process looks like — for anyone who doesn't like surprises

A series of several sessions spaced several weeks apart. Between them, your body clears the broken-down pigment, and the effect builds up. Each session is a short time in the salon — the area is protected, the pulses take a moment, then you get guidance for the following days.
After each session: a few days of quiet healing, mild redness, and minor scabbing that falls off on its own. You return to daily work and activities essentially the next day. What others see? For the first few days — protective care and no shaving on the treated area, then normal life resumes.
The most important difference from an ordinary tattoo: PMU pigments can be blends containing iron oxides, which may temporarily darken with the first laser pulse. That's why we start with a laser test patch for lips and eyeliner — for brows, we assess individually. We tell you this before the treatment, not after.

Frequently asked questions

Can you tell after brow PMU removal that something was done?
With correct technique and a full series — no. The goal is a natural look once healed, not a visible trace of the treatment. Scarring risk for brows is low; if you're prone to keloids, we discuss this openly at consultation.
How long does the whole process take — from first session to final result?
It's a series of several treatments spaced a few weeks apart. We set the actual number of sessions at consultation, after assessing the pigment — colour, depth and age of the PMU matter a great deal. There's no single answer for everyone; there's an honest plan once we've seen the area.
Can I shave my beard during the series?
For the first few days after each session, we avoid shaving or irritating the treated area — so the scabs can fall off calmly, without risking hyperpigmentation. Once healed (usually a few days to around two weeks), shaving resumes without restriction.
How noticeable are the effects of the treatment day to day — at work, at meetings?
Once healed after each session, the area looks normal — the pigment is slightly lighter, with no visible marks. For the first few days after a session, there may be mild redness or minor scabbing; for brows, this can be covered with a hairstyle or a protective cream, for eyeliner it's harder — it's worth planning sessions before a long weekend or a quieter week.
Can I exercise and go to the gym between sessions?
You return to most activities essentially right away — with one exception: heavy sweating and contact with chlorine (swimming pools) in the first days of healing aren't good for the result and can irritate the area. A few days off from intensive training and pools, then no restrictions.
