BROWS & LASHES
Fair, ginger, or simply invisible lash tips can make the eyes look tired, as if they "disappear" without makeup. Lash tinting is the simplest way to reverse this: a gentle colouring of your natural lashes with a dye designed for the eye area, making lashes look darker, visually fuller and more defined — like with mascara, but without mascara and without daily application.
The result is resistant to water and sweat, so it won't smudge at the pool, during a workout, or in summer heat. This is a cosmetic styling service — we don't break the skin, we don't extend the lashes, we simply enhance what you naturally have. At J'adore Instytut, it's performed by a brow & lash stylist. Below you'll find everything worth knowing before your first visit.
1 visit + top-up every few weeks
How it works
Lash tinting involves coating your natural lashes with a dye designed for the delicate eye area. The dye settles on each lash, giving it a uniform, deep colour along its entire length — including the thin, pale tips that mascara usually misses. The result: lashes look darker, fuller and longer, and the eyes appear "open" and well-rested — without a single stroke of makeup.
This is a purely styling treatment — we don't break the skin, we don't insert needles and we don't attach anything. We work exclusively with your own lashes. That's why tinting works so well as a "base" for a natural look: no need to reach for mascara in the morning, and nothing to remove in the evening.

Good to know: it's not that the lashes "grow darker" — we tint the ones you already have. That's why the colour gradually fades as your lashes go through their natural cycle: an old, tinted lash falls out, and a new one grows in its place in your base shade. This is why a top-up every few weeks is needed.
Ideal for
Women's zone and men's zone
This treatment is designed mainly for women, and that's how we approach it. The aim is a defined, dark look without makeup — while keeping the result fully natural. We choose the shade to match your skin tone, eye colour and hair, so the effect is defined but never "theatrical". This is classic lash tinting for women.
The areas we support
Lash tinting for men is a niche, but a real one — most often chosen by those with fair or ginger lashes who want a less "tired" look without any makeup effect. Here the register is even more discreet: the goal is for people to notice a rested gaze, not "done" lashes.
The areas we support
Good news: the same visit scales beautifully from "barely noticeable" to "defined". The strength of the effect depends mainly on shade selection, not a "stronger" treatment — that's why we always start the conversation about colour with your goal.
Patch test
Lash tinting uses a colouring product applied right next to the eye — one of the most sensitive areas of the body. That's why safety starts before we touch your lashes:
If a salon offers lash tinting "on the spot", at a first visit, without a prior patch test — that's a warning sign. A dye applied right next to the eye can trigger an allergic reaction; skipping the test means cutting corners on your safety. A second warning sign is tinting during active conjunctivitis, a stye, or an irritated, watering eye — in that case, we postpone the treatment until it heals. You have every right to ask about the patch test and which product the salon uses.
BROWS & LASHES
From the stylist's chair
The most common request I hear is "I want it as dark as possible". Then, when I show the effect of brown or navy on fair skin, the reaction is often "oh, that's it". The darkest black doesn't always look best — with delicate features, it can overwhelm the eye. That's why we always talk about colour beforehand, not after.
Contraindications
Some contraindications are permanent, others temporary — in the latter case, we simply postpone the treatment until the situation passes. We cover all of this in a short consultation before tinting.
From the stylist's chair
The most commonly overlooked issue: "my eye is just a little red, no watering today — can we still tint?" It's better to postpone by a few days. A calm, healthy eye is what makes for a pleasant visit and an even, attractive colour — with irritation, we'd be putting it at unnecessary risk.
This isn't a complete list — we go through your eye health, allergies and previous reactions individually before the treatment, and we always carry out a patch test for a first tinting.
What to expect
You see the result straight away — once the dye is removed, your lashes are already dark and defined. This is a real advantage compared with treatments that "build up" over time. The colour is most intense right after the visit and settles gently into its final shade over the first few days.
How long results last depends on your natural lash cycle and your care routine — that's why we talk about "a few weeks" rather than a fixed date. Oily makeup removers, harsh eye-rubbing and very hot steam shorten the effect; gentle care extends it.

Tinting and your lifestyle
Most questions aren't about the treatment itself, but about the first 24 hours: pool, sauna, makeup, makeup removal. There's one rule — for the first few hours, let the dye set undisturbed, then go back to everything without restrictions.
For the first 24 hours, avoid soaking your lashes for long periods, hot baths and intense steam — let the colour set. After that, water makes no difference.
On the first day, skip the pool and sea swimming. After that, this is exactly the advantage of tinting: the colour won't run in water or with sweat.
Hot steam in the first 24 hours can weaken fresh colour. Plan your sauna visit for the next day.
This matters: oils and oily makeup removers speed up colour fading. Use a gentle, oil-free micellar water for the eye area.
Vigorous rubbing or "scrubbing" the lashes shortens the effect and irritates the eye. Remove makeup gently, pressing a cotton pad rather than rubbing.
Mascara isn't necessary any more — but you can add it in the evening. Eyeshadow and eyeliner are fine too. Everyday life resumes immediately.

Information. Lash tinting is a cosmetic styling service (lash styling); the result is temporary and depends on your natural lash growth cycle and home care. Because we use a colouring product, we always carry out a patch test before the treatment. The text above is for informational purposes. The details, shade and variant are agreed with your stylist during the visit.
