Plasma IQ for men — a discreet, scalpel-free eyelid lift

Drooping eyelids give away tiredness and age — even when you're in great shape. Plasma IQ can change that: no scalpel, no scars, no weeks off.

Men rarely say it outright: "I don't like what I see in the mirror." More often it sounds like "people keep asking if I'm getting enough sleep" or "everyone says I look tired, but I feel great." Drooping, heavy eyelids can send a completely different message than you intend — regardless of your fitness, lifestyle or mood. Plasma IQ is a treatment that targets this one problem. It tightens the skin around the eyes with precision — no scalpel, no scars, no long recovery. Here's the straight story below.

Why eyelids "droop" — and what it has to do with your face

The skin around the eyes is exceptionally thin and elastic — that's why it reacts faster than the rest of the face. With age, it loses collagen, stretches under its own weight and starts to "droop" onto the eyelid. The effect is twofold: you look older and more tired than you actually are. In men, genetics often adds another factor. Heavy eyelids can appear earlier and more pronounced than in women, and they're harder to hide with makeup.

This isn't just an aesthetic preference. A significantly drooping eyelid can narrow your field of vision and genuinely interfere with daily life. At that stage, it becomes a functional indication, not just a visual one. But even before that point, excess skin on the eyelid changes the expression of your eyes: instead of an open, focused gaze, you get a tired, heavy, hooded look. A treatment that corrects this isn't an overreaction — it's a response to a specific problem.

Plasma IQ — what does it actually do?

Plasma IQ uses air ionisation to generate a plasma discharge. In practice, the device tip is held close to the skin — without touching it — and delivers a micro-pulse of energy precisely into the epidermis. At that point, the skin contracts, tightens and signals the body to produce new collagen. This isn't a burn or a cut. It's a controlled, targeted stimulus for regeneration.

The treatment is performed in a grid of very small points across the eyelid. For a few days after the session, small, dark scabs are visible — they look a bit like tiny freckles. This is a normal part of healing. When each scab falls off, usually between day 5 and day 10, new, firmer skin appears underneath. The tightening effect can continue building for several weeks as the tissue produces new collagen.

Plasma IQ

scalpel-free treatment

  • no cutting, no stitches, no scars
  • outpatient treatment — no hospital stay
  • recovery of a few days to around two weeks
  • results can continue building for several weeks
  • targeted precision — eye area, brows, lips

Blepharoplasty (surgery)

eyelid surgery

  • permanent, significant removal of excess skin
  • indicated for significant excess tissue
  • a pronounced result visible after healing

What it actually involves — no sugar-coating

Before the treatment, the skin around the eyes is numbed with cream. You'll wait several dozen minutes for it to take effect. The treatment itself is usually shorter than you'd expect. During the session, you may feel warmth and a slight stinging — most people describe it as uncomfortable, not painful. Afterwards, the skin is red and mildly swollen.

  1. 01

    Consultation

Assessment of the eyelid, skin thickness and degree of droop. The doctor determines whether Plasma IQ is the right choice and what result you can realistically expect.

  2. 02

    Treatment

Local anaesthesia with numbing cream, then the session itself. A grid of micro-pulses is applied to the eyelid. The skin responds with immediate contraction.

  3. 03

    First days (1–4)

Swelling and redness — this stage isn't pretty. A fine grid of scabs appears. This is what looks like "dots".

  4. 04

    Healing (5–10 days)

The scabs fall off on their own — never remove them manually. The skin underneath is pink and gradually returns to its normal colour.

  5. 05

    Final result (4–8 weeks)

Skin tightening builds as the new collagen matures. You assess the final result after a few weeks — not once the scabs come off.

What about work? For the first 3–5 days, most people prefer not to appear in public without sunglasses. Some return to the office after 5 days, others wait until the scabs are fully gone. It depends on how much comment you can tolerate and what your workplace expects. Video calls during this time are your call — a camera is a camera.

Who it's for — and who it isn't

Plasma IQ tends to work best for men with moderate excess eyelid skin — some drooping, a change in the expression of the eyes, but not yet at the point of needing surgery. Age isn't the deciding factor here: some come in their forties, others in their thirties.

  • Good candidates: moderate eyelid droop, a change in eye expression, generally good skin condition, realistic expectations about the result
  • Caution or exclusion: very dark skin tone (higher risk of hyperpigmentation), active skin conditions in the treatment area, healing disorders, autoimmune conditions
  • A candidate for a surgeon, not Plasma IQ: significant excess skin that overhangs the lashes or restricts the field of vision

Combinations that make sense

Plasma IQ addresses eyelid droop, but your overall look is shaped by other factors too — dark circles, volume, brow expression. It's worth discussing at a single consultation visit whether one method is enough for your target result, or whether a combination makes more sense.

Hyaluronic acid (tear trough)

Dark circles can weigh down the eyes just as much as a drooping eyelid. Restoring volume in the tear trough often works synergistically — the open, rested-eye effect becomes more pronounced.

Botox (brow lift)

Correctly administered Botox in the forehead can slightly lift the brow line and "open" the eye from above. In men, the effect should be subtle — the goal is a natural lift, not a theatrical arch.

Injectable lipolysis (fat pad)

If there are fat pads under the eye or on the eyelid, skin tightening with plasma alone may not be enough. Injectable lipolysis reduces the fat tissue, plasma tightens the skin — together they can give a more complete result.

Straight questions men actually ask

"Will anyone notice?" — For the first 5–10 days, yes: visible scabs and redness are best hidden behind sunglasses rather than makeup. Once the scabs are gone, the effect builds gradually and naturally — fully visible after a few weeks. No one will ask "what did you do"; if anyone says anything, it'll be that you look good.

"How long do results last?" — Results can last several years, depending on your individual rate of ageing, lifestyle and sun protection. This isn't a permanent effect: your skin continues to age at its own pace. Some people choose to repeat the treatment after a few years.

"Does it hurt?" — Numbing cream significantly reduces discomfort. During the treatment, most people describe a feeling of warmth and slight stinging — not pain. The swelling afterwards can be more noticeable, and it may be quite pronounced for the first 24–48 hours.
