Why do arms "sag"?
Laxity and cellulite on the arms usually stem from several overlapping causes. Understanding them helps us choose the right treatments.
- Loss of skin elasticity — collagen and elastin production decreases with age, and the skin loses firmness
- Loss of muscle mass — muscle mass typically peaks around age 25–35; after that, the triceps can gradually shrink
- Gravity — triceps skin is thin and lacks natural "support" from a strong muscle
- Weight fluctuations — rapid weight loss means the skin can't keep up and starts to fold
- Genetics — for many women, the arms and thighs are natural sites for fat storage
- Inactive triceps — without regular exercise, the muscle shrinks and the skin loses support
Cellulite on the arms versus laxity — what's the difference?
Both problems often coexist and call for a combined approach — some treatments target the structure of the connective tissue, while others focus on rebuilding collagen and firming the skin.
Treatments for cellulite and laxity on the arms
At J'ADORE INSTYTUT, we use several proven methods that can be combined depending on the severity of the problem and your expected results.
Complementary exercises — why they matter
Aesthetic treatments without strengthening the triceps muscle give shorter-lasting results. Regular training of the arm muscles gives the skin better support from within, so the results of the treatments last longer.
- Tricep dips on a chair — no equipment needed, accessible to everyone
- Skull crushers with dumbbells — direct triceps loading
- Tricep pushdowns with a resistance band
- Close-grip push-ups
A comprehensive 3-month plan
The best results come from combining different methods into a coherent programme. Here's an example plan we often use for clients with noticeable cellulite and laxity on the arms:
- Weeks 1–6: intensive phase — LPG and Emtone alternated twice a week; triceps training twice a week alongside
- Weeks 7–12: maintenance — LPG once a week; triceps training twice a week
- Result after 12 weeks: many clients see a noticeable reduction in cellulite, improved skin quality and firmer muscle tone
Realistic expectations
Aesthetic treatments can significantly improve skin condition, reduce the visible appearance of cellulite and increase firmness — but they can't "add back" skin that's gone. Laxity following significant weight loss or years of neglect is harder to correct with non-surgical methods.
Most women with moderate cellulite and laxity on the arms achieve satisfying results with regular series of treatments — especially when these are combined with training and proper hydration.
