A treatment room at J'adoreBODY CONTOURING & SLIMMING
"Orange-peel skin" on the thighs and buttocks, a lax abdomen after pregnancy or weight loss — this isn't just about fat tissue. Cellulite comes from several factors at once: fibrous connective tissue septa, poorer microcirculation, weakening collagen and an uneven skin surface. Emtone (BTL) takes a comprehensive approach — one applicator combines radiofrequency energy (RF) with targeted pressure energy (mechanical waves), addressing these factors simultaneously.
Heat stimulates the skin to rebuild firmness, while the pressure wave releases compressed septa and boosts circulation. This is a treatment that supports body contouring — it doesn't replace diet or exercise, but it can noticeably improve the look and firmness of skin in areas where diet alone isn't enough. At J'adore Instytut, Emtone is performed by an experienced cosmetologist. Below you'll find everything worth knowing before your first series.
series of 4–6 sessions (6 is optimal), usually once a week or every 2 weeks
How it works
Emtone combines two technologies working simultaneously in a single applicator: radiofrequency energy (RF) and targeted pressure energy — a mechanical wave. This isn't two separate treatments one after another — it's a synergistic combination in a single pass of the applicator. This means a shorter session, with the skin receiving a stimulus from several directions at once.
Radiofrequency energy (RF) heats the deeper layers of the skin in a controlled way. This heat stimulates fibroblasts to produce collagen and elastin and supports the reorganisation of fibrous connective tissue septa — the same septa that "pull" the skin and create the characteristic dimpling of cellulite.
Targeted pressure energy (mechanical wave) works deeper on a mechanical level: it releases tense septa, stimulates microcirculation and lymphatic drainage and helps break down compressed deposits. This is the part responsible for improving circulation and "getting the tissue moving".

Cellulite has several causes at once — fibrous septa, poorer circulation, weakening collagen and an uneven skin surface. The strength of Emtone lies in the fact that RF and the pressure wave address these factors simultaneously, not one at a time.
Ideal for
Emtone supports contouring and firmness — it isn't a weight-loss method or a way to remove significant fat tissue. It works best as part of a broader approach to body care: diet and exercise + treatment + home care.
The female zone and the male zone
For women, the most common reason is cellulite on the thighs and buttocks and a lax abdomen after pregnancy. Female skin has a different connective tissue septa structure, which is why "orange-peel skin" appears more often and earlier. This is classic Emtone for women — the goal is smoother, firmer skin and a better contour.
The areas we support
Men most often come in with a lax abdomen and love handles — after significant weight loss, or when skin has lost firmness. Increasingly, also to support recovery and firmness after intensive training. This is Emtone for men — the goal: firmer, tighter skin on the abdomen and flanks, with no interruption to your activity.
The areas we support
Fun fact: the same pressure wave that here loosens fibrous cellulite septa has, in its medical form (shockwave therapy), helped athletes recover their tendons and muscles for years. It's an energy well known in physiotherapy, put to work here for skin firmness — in synergy with the warmth of radiofrequency.
Contraindications
Some contraindications are permanent, others temporary — in which case we simply postpone the treatment until the situation passes. We go through the full list individually during consultation, as it depends on the zone and your health history.
From the cosmetologist's chair
The most commonly overlooked issue: implanted devices and implants. I always ask about pacemakers and metal components in the body, because with radiofrequency energy this is essential. If you have any implant — mention it at consultation, even if it seems irrelevant. Better to ask than to leave it out.
This isn't a complete list — we'll go through your medications, health conditions, past treatments and any implanted components together at consultation before the series.

The visit

Consultation
the cosmetologist assesses the degree of cellulite and skin condition, rules out contraindications, and sets realistic goals and series length. This is when we're honest about what to expect.

Preparing the zone
the area is exposed and cleansed; a gel that helps the applicator glide is applied to the skin.

Treatment
the applicator moves over the skin, simultaneously warming it with radiofrequency and vibrating it with pressure energy. It feels like a warm, fairly intense massage — comfortable, with no needles.
Finishing up
brief instructions, firming cream. Skin may be slightly pink for a moment.
No downtime
you return to normal activity straight away, including work or training.
Honestly, about results
Most important point: this works across a series, and slowly. Emtone doesn't "burn" fat in one pass and won't shave off several centimetres after the first visit. It works on skin quality and tissue structure — and collagen rebuilding takes weeks.
What I hear most often after the first session: "so, where's the result?". It's completely normal not to see it yet — the skin has only just started rebuilding collagen. That's why we plan a series and assess results after several sessions, with the final outcome a few weeks after it ends. Patience really pays off here.
No honest cellulite treatment removes several centimetres after one visit, or "eliminates cellulite forever". Promises like "minus 8 cm in an hour", a suspiciously cheap package, or a series sold without consultation and without asking about contraindications are warning signs. A good salon starts with a conversation, assesses the degree of cellulite, and tells you honestly what you can expect — and what you can't.

Emtone and your lifestyle
Emtone requires no recovery, but you can help lock in the effect — or unintentionally weaken it. Circulation, hydration and movement after the treatment support drainage and rebuilding. Here are the most common questions:
No downtime — you can train the same day. Movement stimulates circulation and lymph flow, so it supports the treatment's effect. This is one of Emtone's advantages over methods with downtime.
Good hydration helps the body drain and process what the treatment has "stirred up". Drink water on the day of the treatment and in the days that follow — this genuinely supports the result.
Your skin is already warmed by the treatment. It's better to skip intensive heat from a sauna or a very hot bath on the day of the treatment — return to them the next day.
We don't perform this treatment on freshly tanned or sunburnt skin. After the treatment, avoid intense sun on the treated zone, and remember SPF on exposed areas in summer.
The treatment works best alongside a healthy diet and activity. Emtone supports contouring, it doesn't replace it — the treatment alone won't offset a calorie surplus.
Alcohol dehydrates and puts a strain on circulation — working against what we're trying to achieve with drainage. It's best to cut back around the time of treatment and stick to water.
