Before you leave, establish what your visit actually included
Saying “I had cavitation” may mean brief exfoliation with a spatula followed by cream. It may also mean an extended procedure with manual cleansing, an ampoule, sonophoresis and a mask. Your skin starts from a different point after each option. Ask for the stages performed to be named, as well as the product applied at the end and whether it should remain on your face for a specified time. Also note when you can return to your usual active ingredients and what to do if a reaction occurs.
After cavitation alone, the cosmetologist may see even, calm skin. After extraction, they may notice pinpoint redness. If an additional acid was used, they will consider the effect of the full combination. Recommendations are given for the procedure that actually took place, not for the name of the first stage on the price list. If you do not know whether an acid or retinoid was used, ask at the salon rather than deciding later beside your skincare shelf.
Cavitation alone does not promise empty pores
The spatula moves over continuously moistened skin. Without a medium, the treatment does not proceed as it should. Its purpose is not to mechanically squeeze out every pore’s contents. Your nose may be smoother after the visit, but a blackhead may still be visible in the crease by the nostril. This is a limitation of the method, not an invitation to use your nails, a needle or an adhesive strip.
Deep, firm lesions, painful nodules and active breakouts require separate assessment. Cavitation does not replace a dermatologist or properly planned manual cleansing. A realistic result may be superficial smoothing and refreshing, without completely removing the appearance of pores. The first week is not for chasing what the spatula deliberately did not attempt to remove.
The first evening starts with instructions, not double cleansing
When you return home, your face may be slightly damp from the finishing product or have a noticeable layer of mask remaining. Do not assume that you need to wash it off immediately with oil and a foaming gel. Check the agreed time. Once cleansing is allowed, use your hands and lukewarm water. Avoid a brush, flannel and prolonged massage. Patting dry with a soft towel causes less friction than vigorous rubbing.
If extraction was performed during your visit, do not touch the treated points or check their firmness several times an hour. If a serum was applied with sonophoresis, do not immediately add another ampoule with a similar name. In both cases, too much activity makes the picture unclear. If stinging develops, it becomes difficult to establish whether it came from the salon or an additional home step.
In the morning, check four things instead of looking for flaws in your skin
Look at the colour, comfort, dryness and areas that received additional treatment. Mild redness should fade. Tightness should not turn into increasing pain. A point after manual cleansing may remain visible, but the surrounding area should not quickly swell or become increasingly warm. If something concerns you, take one clear photograph in daylight. Then stop examining your face in a magnifying mirror.
Your reflection after little sleep, a hot shower or pressure from a pillow is not a reliable measure of the result. Wait until the temperature and colour return to their usual level. Smoothness under your fingertips does not tell the whole story either. Frequently rubbing your nose to check your pores can itself cause redness that was not there before.
The third day makes a blackhead strip tempting
Someone sees a dark spot on their nose and concludes that the treatment missed that particular pore. They apply a strip, press it down firmly and pull it off in one movement once dry. The skin remains red in the shape of the strip. It stings under cream and starts to peel unevenly. At a later consultation, the boundary of irritation shows exactly where the adhesive acted. Cavitation did not create this mark. It was caused by an attempt to bring the skin immediately to imagined perfection.
Squeezing with your nails, using a metal loop without preparation and repeatedly passing a home spatula over a dry area work in a similar way. Do not repeat the treatment with an online device in the same week. If a remaining lesion genuinely bothers you, show it to your cosmetologist and ask whether it requires a different method. Not everything visible in a pore opening is suitable for removal at that time.
A minimal routine should protect, not extend cleansing
The essentials are a gentle cleanser, a cream suited to your skin barrier and sun protection. Choose products your skin already knows, unless you were advised to stop using them. A new “detoxifying” mask, clay left to dry completely or a strongly degreasing gel may create a brief feeling of cleanliness. Later, they can cause tightness and the need for another rescue product.
Apply cream without prolonged kneading. If you have localised dryness, do not scrub the area with a cotton pad to remove the “excess skin” first. If a cosmetic product starts to sting, wash it off according to its instructions and note its name. Do not cover a reaction with five other layers. Later, no one will be able to reconstruct the sequence of events.
Acids and retinoids return according to the course of the full procedure
If you use a retinoid, acid toner, enzyme peel or anti-acne product at home, do not automatically restart the full set the next evening. The timing depends on what was performed alongside cavitation and how your skin behaves. Instructions may be shorter after a superficial stage alone, and longer after extraction or additional exfoliation. What matters is the specific procedure, not the belief that cavitation is always gentle.
When the agreed time comes, reintroduce active ingredients one at a time. If stinging or redness returns after the first product, you will know what it appeared with. Applying three substances at once removes that information. Do not modify treatment prescribed by a dermatologist on your own. Agree any break and return with the person managing your treatment.
Make-up should also be easy to remove
If your face does not sting and the protocol allows make-up, choose an amount that can be removed without polishing your skin. A dense, long-lasting foundation pressed into the skin with several tools may require vigorous make-up removal. Use a clean brush or a freshly washed sponge. Where extraction was performed, limit touching and do not rub concealer directly into the disrupted area.
In the evening, do not try to achieve a “squeaky-clean” face. Remove remaining pigment gently, sometimes in two short stages recommended for your skin, rather than with one prolonged rubbing action. If make-up stings during application, remove it and return to a simple cream. This gives more information than covering the stinging with another layer.
Shaving can exfoliate more intensely than the spatula itself
A blade moves over a surface that was recently treated. It is therefore worth agreeing when to shave before the treatment. The neck and jawline are particularly important if you usually develop ingrown hairs or red bumps there. Do not test a new foam, new razor and aftershave product at the same time. If a reaction occurs, it will be unclear which element caused it.
If you have had cavitation before, you may know your tolerance. However, do not copy the timing from a previous visit if this treatment included extraction. Your current condition determines how you return: no stinging, closed areas after manual work, and the practitioner’s instructions.
Exercise, sauna and a hot shower add stimuli at once
After exercise, sweat collects around the nose and temples, while a towel moves across your face with every repetition. Steam from the shower follows. Even if cavitation itself was well tolerated, salt, temperature and friction can intensify temporary redness. Follow the restrictions given after your visit, especially if the procedure included more than ultrasonic work.
When you return to activity, bring your own clean towel. Do not rest your face against shared mats or handles. Do not cool your cheeks with ice applied directly to the skin. If the colour does not fade after exercise and itching or pain develops, skip your next training session and tell the salon when the symptom began.

Daytime protection also applies to your journey to the office
After superficial exfoliation, do not plan intentional sunbathing. Use the sunscreen recommended for your skin. Apply it around the edges of the treated area too, and reapply according to exposure. Shade, sunglasses and headwear are helpful during longer periods outdoors. The fact that cavitation is not an acid peel does not make sun protection optional.
After a week, someone will often say they were not in the sun. Then they describe car journeys, lunch by a window and afternoon walks. Daily exposure does not look like a holiday, but it still consists of specific periods. Rather than adding a brightening product to a new mark later, it is better to account for your usual daily routine from the start.
A new breakout does not have to mean “skin purging”
A single lesion may appear on the third or fourth day. Not every one should be treated as proof that impurities are coming to the surface. It may result from touching, a heavy cosmetic product, coincidence or an earlier process. Do not squeeze it or cover it with several drying products. Observe whether it grows, hurts and whether further breakouts appear around it.
At a follow-up, the cosmetologist will ask where the spatula worked, what was applied afterwards and how your routine changed. Information that the lesion appeared after a new mask or beneath an area constantly touched by your phone is more useful than a general “I think I have broken out”. Extensive or painful worsening should be consulted, not waited out under the label of temporary cleansing.
A reaction to an ampoule can resemble a reaction to the device
Cavitation may be combined with sonophoresis and active products. If itchy redness appears after your visit, the full set used on your skin should be considered, not only the spatula. Ask for the product names. Do not immediately try applying the same ampoule again at home to check whether the reaction returns. Such a test can worsen the problem.
When reporting it, describe the timing: whether stinging began during the treatment, after you returned home, after cleansing or only after your own cosmetic product. Mark the boundaries of redness and take a photograph without beautifying it. This makes it easier for the practitioner to consider next steps and note an ingredient that should not be repeated automatically at your next visit.
The same red point means something different after three types of visit
After cavitation alone, someone notices a delicate pink band along their nose. It is exactly where the spatula passed several times over the damp surface. It does not hurt or itch, and it fades during a calm evening. In this situation, observing the direction of change matters more than adding cooling masks. One photograph before cleansing and another in the morning will show whether the colour is settling. This is more useful than fixing in your memory an image checked every few minutes.
After a procedure extended with manual extraction, individual points remain on the chin. One is pressed because a thickened area can be felt beneath a fingertip. The next day, that point is larger and more tender than the others. The difference does not automatically indicate infection. However, it requires stopping any manipulation and telling the practitioner exactly what was done. Comparing it with untouched areas helps assess how much of the reaction comes from the treatment and how much from subsequent pressure.
After cavitation finished with an ampoule, redness does not follow the path of the spatula. It also affects the temples and neck, and itching accompanies the colour change. In this situation, the product list is more valuable than reassurance that ultrasound has always been well tolerated. Do not apply the remaining similar serum at home or test it on your other cheek. Contact the salon, give the time when symptoms began and check whether their extent changes.
The first visit and a further session teach different mistakes
After their first cavitation treatment, someone often expects every dark point to disappear and checks their nose from a few centimetres away for a week. After a fifth session, the tendency may be the opposite: assuming they know everything and omitting information about a new acid used at home or a change of cream. The first person needs a realistic measure of the result. The second needs an up-to-date consultation. Your routine cannot rely only on memories of the previous course.
At your next consultation, it matters how long comfort lasted, whether dryness appeared, whether active ingredients returned without stinging and which areas remained unchanged. This description makes it possible to consider changing the scope. Saying “it was fine” does not show whether cavitation was sufficient or whether the expectation was simply gentle refreshing.
When contact is needed sooner than after a week
A worsening direction should concern you: redness spreads to new areas, swelling increases, pain becomes more pronounced, or blisters, oozing or signs of infection appear. Intense itching after a product also requires stopping experiments and speaking to the salon. Sudden swelling of the lips or face, difficulty breathing or another severe symptom requires urgent medical help.
Prepare the time of your treatment, a list of the stages performed, products used after you returned home and photographs showing the change over time. Do not apply a thick layer of concealer before taking photographs. A precise record is not for dramatising the situation. It helps distinguish a point after extraction from a reaction affecting a larger area.
Krakow: a local address does not change individual recommendations
You can find the scope of the service and booking options on the cavitation peel in Krakow page. J’ADORE INSTYTUT is located at Karmelicka 45/2B and is open Monday to Saturday, 8–20. Before you leave, ask for recommendations covering every stage performed that day, not only the main name of your visit.
In the city centre, it is easy to combine a treatment with exercise, a long walk and another meeting. If your face remains warm or manual cleansing was performed, a calmer return allows you to limit accidental friction and observe the reaction more effectively. You do not need to isolate yourself at home. You need a plan that makes the recommendations practical.
On day seven, also assess what the treatment was not intended to do.
Compare photos in similar lighting and from the same distance. Check smoothness, comfort when cleansing, the number of dry areas and tolerance of your usual skincare. Do not assess success solely by the number of visible pores. They are part of the skin’s structure, and cavitation does not remove them. A single remaining blackhead does not negate the effects of superficial exfoliation.
Note whether the procedure included extraction or sonophoresis, and what happened after each element. This allows the next visit to be better tailored. The best first week after cavitation is not about constantly correcting your skin. It is about not adding a method after the treatment that nobody planned.
If the result seems too subtle, do not automatically book a stronger version. Bring photos to your consultation and specify which area has not changed. Sometimes the right answer is a different method for deep blackheads, rather than more passes with the spatula over the same area.
