FACIAL COSMETOLOGY

Smoothness and radiance
“no acids or rubbing”

Dull, grey skin, clogged pores, a "rough" texture that won't budge no matter how often you cleanse — this isn't a bad cream. It's a layer of dead cells that surface skincare simply can't shift.

Cavitation peeling is ultrasonic skin cleansing — no acids, no microbeads, no mechanical abrasion. Sound waves break down and lift dead, keratinised skin. In the second phase, they drive active serum far deeper than any cream applied on top of the skin ever could. It's one of the gentlest exfoliating treatments available — safe even for sensitive and vascular skin. One note on the name: this is cleansing, not a chemical peel — acids are a separate category. At J'adore Instytut, the treatment is performed by an experienced cosmetologist. Below you'll find everything worth knowing before your first visit.

  • Dull, grey, tired-looking skin
  • Clogged pores and blackheads
  • Sensitive and vascular skin
  • Dehydrated skin that doesn't "respond" to creams
  • Oily skin prone to shine
  • Preparation for a follow-up treatment
  • A quick fix before an important event

How it works

How it works

Cavitation peeling is ultrasonic skin cleansing. A flat metal head (a "spatula") emits ultrasonic waves. In a thin layer of water or gel, these waves trigger cavitation — microbubbles form and collapse rapidly. This micro-energy breaks down and lifts keratinised, dead skin, and loosens debris in the pore openings — no chemicals, no friction, no abrasion.

What sets cavitation apart from a standard peel is the second phase: after exfoliation, the head switches mode and uses sonophoresis to drive active serum deep into the skin. Freshly cleansed skin, stripped of its dead surface layer, absorbs the ingredients like a sponge — far deeper than any cream applied on top could reach.

One key thing to remember: this is not a chemical peel. We don't use acids or microbeads. That means no stinging, no peeling of the skin, and no recovery period — and that's exactly why cavitation is so gentle.

Three levels of skin in cross-section: the stratum corneum right at the top, the sebaceous gland openings within the epidermis beneath it, and deepest of all the dermis. An ultrasonic spatula lifts the keratinised epidermis and loosens the contents of the pore openings. The treatment works at the surface — it does not go below the epidermis.
  1. Stratum corneumdead skin lifted during the treatment
  2. Sebaceous gland openingwhere the congestion is cleared from
  3. Dermisdeeper than this cleansing reaches

Ideal for

Ideal for

  1. Dull, grey, tired-looking skinwhen a layer of dead cells dampens radiance and creams alone don't help.
  2. Clogged pores and blackheadscavitation loosens sebum and debris in the pore openings; skin looks cleaner and pores appear smaller.
  3. Sensitive and vascular skinone of the few exfoliating treatments we can recommend for reactive skin, since there are no acids to cause the usual stinging.
  4. Dehydrated skin that doesn't "respond" to creamssonophoresis delivers hydrating serum deeper than surface application ever could.
  5. Oily skin prone to shineregular cleansing helps keep pores clear.
  6. Preparation for a follow-up treatmentas a first step before HydraFacial, Geneo, a medical peel or mesotherapy.
  7. A quick fix before an important eventan immediate smoothing, brightening effect with no redness.

Female and male skin

What's different

For her

Your skin, refreshed — without compromising sensitivity

For women, cavitation is most often about radiance, smoothness and better hydration — frequently used as a "reset" before makeup, a shoot, or a night out. A key advantage is the hyaluronic serum sonophoresis after exfoliation. This is the classic cavitation peeling for women.

The areas we support

  1. dull skin, "rough" texture, lack of radiance;
  2. dehydration — a clear effect after HA serum sonophoresis;
  3. sensitive and vascular skin that doesn't tolerate acids;
  4. last-minute cleansing before an important event.
For him

Thicker skin, more sebum — and a precise tool to clean it

Men's skin is thicker and produces noticeably more sebum, so it exfoliates more slowly and pores clog faster. Cavitation is a pain-free alternative to blackhead extraction and regular T-zone cleansing. This is cavitation peeling for men.

The areas we support

  1. clogged pores and blackheads on the nose, chin and forehead;
  2. oily, shiny skin and a dull complexion;
  3. for those who don't tolerate manual extraction;
  4. zero downtime — heading straight to a meeting afterwards is no problem.

Fun fact: the same physical effect — cavitation, the implosion of microbubbles in liquid — is used by industry to clean metal parts in ultrasonic cleaners. In the salon, we harness it for gentle "wet" skin cleansing: no acid, no abrasion, just sound waves and water.

Safety

What really determines the result

Cavitation sounds simple — "moving a spatula over the skin" — which is exactly why it's easy to do badly. Three things determine the result, and they're worth asking about at any salon:

  1. Who performs it

    This is a cosmetology treatment — at J'adore, it's carried out by an experienced cosmetologist, who assesses your skin type, chooses the serum for sonophoresis, and guides the head so it actually cleanses your skin rather than just gliding over it.

  2. Equipment and conducting medium

    Ultrasound only works on damp skin — without water or gel as a medium, the head does nothing. The device itself matters too: cheap, weak equipment can be indistinguishable from an ordinary massage.

  3. Choice of serum and variant

    Sonophoresis only makes sense with a well-chosen, good-quality serum. The cosmetologist decides whether a hydrating, soothing or more concentrated serum suits your skin best.

Red flag: a suspiciously cheap "cavitation peeling" · A bargain price can be a sign that you'll get a simple pass of the spatula over your face, with no real cleansing and no meaningful sonophoresis — or a treatment on weak equipment by someone without proper training. You have every right to ask who performs the treatment, what serum is used for sonophoresis, and whether the price includes full cavitation rather than just a "gentle glide". Also be wary of promises like "removes wrinkles" or "cures acne" — cavitation is a cleansing treatment, not a miracle cure for everything.

Contraindications

When to postpone the treatment

Some contraindications are permanent, others are temporary — in which case we simply postpone the treatment until the situation resolves. Remember: this is a non-invasive treatment with no needles, so what matters most is skin condition and factors related to ultrasound.

We don't perform it
  • Pacemakeran absolute contraindication to ultrasound.
  • Metal implants in the treatment arearequire caution and assessment by the cosmetologist.
  • Active herpes or an active skin infectionin the treatment area — we postpone until it has fully healed.
  • Active inflammation, pustules, or open woundsin the treatment area.
  • Rosacea in a flare-up phasepronounced redness needs to settle before the treatment.
  • Skin conditions in a flare-up(e.g. psoriasis, atopic dermatitis) in the treatment area.
  • Epilepsyrequires caution and consultation.
  • Cancerthe treatment requires approval and consultation with the treating doctor.

From the cosmetologist's chair

The most commonly forgotten one: active herpes. Someone might say, "I just have a small cold sore, let's clean the rest of my face." It's better to postpone by a few days — we work on the whole face, and an active virus carries a risk of spreading. The other one is a pacemaker — there's no compromise here; we don't perform ultrasound at all.

This isn't a complete list — pregnancy, chronic conditions, medications and previous treatments are all discussed individually during your consultation. Cavitation is sometimes considered during pregnancy precisely because it uses no acids — but we always decide this on an individual basis.

The visit

What to expect during your visit

  1. Cavitation peel (mechanical/ultrasound) — treatment at J'adore Instytut — Consultation & skin assessment

    Consultation & skin assessment

    the cosmetologist assesses your skin type, pore condition and expectations, then chooses the variant and serum, and rules out any contraindications.

  2. Cavitation peel (mechanical/ultrasound) — treatment at J'adore Instytut — Cleansing and makeup removal

    Cleansing and makeup removal

    we remove makeup and sebum, then hydrate the skin with thermal water or gel, since cavitation only works on damp skin.

  3. Cavitation peel (mechanical/ultrasound) — treatment at J'adore Instytut — Ultrasonic exfoliation

    Ultrasonic exfoliation

    the head is moved systematically over the skin. You'll feel gentle vibrations and light tingling, sometimes warmth — it's pleasant, not painful. Exfoliated material is sometimes visible on the spatula.

  4. Cavitation peel (mechanical/ultrasound) — treatment at J'adore Instytut — Serum sonophoresis

    Serum sonophoresis

    the head switches mode and drives active serum deep into the skin; in extended variants, sonophoresis lasts longer and uses a more concentrated serum.

  5. Cavitation peel (mechanical/ultrasound) — treatment at J'adore Instytut — Mask and protection

    Mask and protection

    we finish with a mask suited to your skin and a cream with SPF. Skin is smooth and radiant; you can apply makeup straight away.

What to expect

No surprises

Most importantly: the result is visible right away. Unlike treatments that "build up" over weeks, cavitation gives you smoother, brighter skin the moment you leave the salon. There's no redness and no recovery period.

  1. Faza 1.immediatelysmooth skin and visible radiance — you can apply makeup straight away
  2. Faza 2.several hoursfull hydration from serum sonophoresis develops
  3. Faza 3.one weekskin keeps its radiance and smoothness; pores look cleaner
  4. Faza 4.after the series / every few weekswith regular sessions, the effect builds up — skin is noticeably more even
People sometimes tell me they expected their whole face to peel off, like after a strong exfoliant. It's the opposite here — cavitation is gentle, so there's no flaking or redness, yet the skin is noticeably smoother. It's a "result now, no payback later" treatment.

What's normal right after the treatment

  • a feeling of freshness and slight tightness in the skin — fades within hours;
  • occasionally mild, temporary flushing on very reactive skin — settles quickly;
  • skin feels more "absorbent" — so skincare products soak in more intensely over the following hours than usual.

A single session delivers an instant result, but it works best as a series and with regular cleansing — because dead skin keeps rebuilding. That way, skin holds onto its radiance for longer, and follow-up treatments in the protocol work more effectively.

Cavitation peeling and your lifestyle

What you can and can't do

Cavitation is one of the most "hassle-free" treatments — you're back to your day immediately. The only thing worth remembering is that freshly cleansed skin is briefly more sensitive to sun and harsh skincare products.

  1. Makeup and daily life

    immediately

    This is a real advantage of cavitation — you can apply makeup the same day and head straight back to work or a meeting. No marks, no redness.

  2. Sun and SPF

    SPF is essential

    After exfoliation, skin reacts more easily to UV — so SPF 50+ that same day is essential, and it's best to skip sunbathing and sunbeds for a few days.

  3. Sauna and the gym

    wait a few hours

    Intense exercise, saunas and hot baths aren't advisable straight after the treatment — wait a few hours to let the skin adjust.

  4. Swimming pool

    skip it that day

    Chlorinated water on freshly cleansed skin can cause irritation — it's best to plan a pool visit for the next day.

  5. Peels and acids at home

    pause for 48 hours

    Skip strong acids, coarse exfoliants and harsh at-home exfoliation for around 48 hours — your skin has just been cleansed, so don't add to the load.

  6. Retinol

    pause for around 2 days

    Pause retinol and strong active ingredients for a few days — return to them once your skin has fully settled. Focus on gentle hydration instead.

Frequently asked questions

  1. QuestionDoes cavitation peeling hurt?
    AnswerNo. The treatment is completely pain-free — you'll feel gentle vibrations from the head, and sometimes a light tingling or warmth. Most clients describe it as pleasant and relaxing.
  2. QuestionWhen do I see results?
    AnswerImmediately — after the treatment, skin looks smoother, brighter, and pores appear smaller. Full hydration from sonophoresis develops over several hours. You can apply makeup right after leaving the salon.
  3. QuestionIs one session enough, or do I need a series?
    AnswerA single session gives an immediate, quick-fix result. It works best, though, as regular cleansing or as a series (usually 4 sessions) — because dead skin keeps rebuilding, and the effect builds up over time.
  4. QuestionHow often can I have a cavitation peeling?
    AnswerUsually every 2–4 weeks. For oily, blackhead-prone skin, even more often; as maintenance care, less often. The cosmetologist will recommend the right frequency during your consultation.
