Three treatments, three completely different purposes
The simplest way to remember it is this: keratin smooths and coats the hair from the outside, Nanoplastia regenerates and smooths without aggressive substances, while hair Botox intensely hydrates and nourishes from within. Each method works at a different level of the hair and addresses a different concern — which is why they often complement rather than replace one another.
Brazilian keratin
smooths and eliminates frizz
- very frizzy, curly or wavy hair
- a smoothing result visible immediately
- lasts for several months with appropriate care
- shortens daily styling time
Nanoplastia
regenerates and smooths without formaldehyde
- damaged, frizzy hair that needs both smoothing and reconstruction
- a formula based on keratin and amino acids, without formaldehyde
- penetrates deeper than classic keratin — reconstructs and smooths
- may gently lighten the colour — discuss this with your hairdresser before the treatment
Hair Botox
intensely hydrates and regenerates from within
- dry, dull, brittle hair without radiance or bounce
- fills gaps in the hair structure (amino acids, hyaluronic acid, vitamins)
- does not smooth permanently — restores life and radiance
- suitable for fine hair that loses collagen and elasticity
How to check what you really need — 3 questions
Before choosing a specific treatment, ask yourself three short questions. They will not replace a consultation with your hairdresser. However, they help you arrive with a clear description of the concern — which makes selecting the right method much quicker.
- 01
What bothers you most?
Frizz and an unruly shape → direction: keratin or Nanoplastia. Dryness, brittleness and lack of radiance → direction: hair Botox. Both → often a combination of Nanoplastia and a Botox treatment.
- 02
Is your hair also damaged (coloured, lightened or permed)?
Yes, visibly damaged → Nanoplastia or hair Botox (deep regeneration). No, your hair is healthy but frizzy → classic keratin may be enough.
- 03
What do you expect from the treatment?
Lasting smoothing and an end to frizz → keratin / Nanoplastia. Restored radiance and bounce without changing the shape → hair Botox. I want to reconstruct my hair and smooth it from time to time → a Botox series + Nanoplastia every few months.
Frizz and damage — two completely different concerns
This is the most common misunderstanding when choosing a treatment. Frizz and damage often go together, but they are not the same — and treating only one of them gives an incomplete result.
This is why many people, especially those with coloured and curly hair, combine both approaches: Nanoplastia for smoothing + Botox as regular care between smoothing treatments. Each solution then does its job without overburdening the hair.
When it is best to combine them
Usually, one question leads to one treatment. Yet for many people, especially those with coloured hair or uneven porosity, the best result often comes from a planned combination. The order and frequency should be agreed with your hairdresser:
Keratin + hair Botox
Keratin smooths the shape, while Botox deeply hydrates alongside or between treatments. It protects the smoothing result and prevents the hair from becoming dry after the treatment.
Nanoplastia + regular Botox treatments
Nanoplastia every few months supports smoothing and condition, while Botox replenishes hydration between cycles. A good option for coloured hair with high porosity.
Botox alone as a reconstructive treatment
For hair that does not need smoothing, only regeneration — a series of Botox treatments can significantly improve its structure before further colouring or lightening.
Keratin vs Nanoplastia — one decision, several criteria
Keratin and Nanoplastia are the most similar treatments — both smooth the hair and eliminate frizz. The difference lies in their ingredients and in what happens alongside smoothing:
Brazilian keratin
smoothing the hair shape
- a proven, widely available method
- a strong smoothing effect for very frizzy hair
- suitable for healthy, undamaged hair with shape concerns
Nanoplastia
smoothing + regeneration
- a formaldehyde-free formula — often better tolerated in terms of scent and for sensitive scalps
- penetrates deeper, combining smoothing with rebuilding the hair structure
- suitable for damaged hair that is also frizzy
For many people, the decision comes down to one question: is the hair mainly frizzy, or both frizzy and damaged? If it is the latter, Nanoplastia may provide a more complete result for many hair types. However, the hairdresser has the final say after assessing your hair in the right light.
