Hair Botox is a deeply nourishing treatment that works from within the hair strand. Beneath this somewhat intimidating name lies a rich complex of ingredients — hyaluronic acid, collagen, nourishing proteins, and amino acids — which penetrates and fills the damaged hair structure. Unlike keratin straightening, it does not rely on keratin as the main building block. Instead, it 'fills' gaps with various proteins and hydrating substances. It is somewhat like 'filling in deficiencies': where hair is porous, dry, and dull, the treatment rebuilds what is missing.
The result is radiance, softness, hydration, and significantly less frizz. Your hair becomes smoother to the touch, easier to style, less prone to 'static', and better withstands daily styling. Most importantly: Hair Botox does not permanently straighten your hair — it tidies the structure and smooths it, but your waves or curls remain intact.
How it works
To understand this treatment, we need to look at the structure of a single hair strand. Hair has a cortex in the middle — which is responsible for its strength and elasticity. On the outside, it is protected by the cuticle, a layer of tiny scales overlapping like roof tiles. When the scales lie flat, light reflects evenly off the hair, and we see radiance. When colouring, bleaching, or heat styling wear them down and lift them, the strand becomes porous. Light scatters chaotically, leading to dullness, and moisture from the air penetrates exposed areas unevenly — this is how frizz occurs.
Hair Botox works precisely on these deficiencies. The treatment is applied to freshly washed, damp strands, because a deep cleansing shampoo lifts the cuticles and opens the way for penetration. Small-molecule ingredients — amino acids, proteins, hyaluronic acid — penetrate beneath the cuticle and fill micro-deficiencies in the cortex, replenishing what is truly missing. Finally, the heat from the hairdryer and straightener evaporates water and seals the cuticles, locking the product inside the strand. The surface becomes smooth again, light reflects evenly, and the hair is less prone to absorbing moisture from the surroundings. Since this is about filling deficiencies, not rebuilding internal hair bonds, subsequent washes gradually rinse out the treatment — which is why it is repeated after some time.
Interesting fact: The cuticles on the hair surface are arranged like roof tiles — all in one direction, from root to tip. This is why you can smoothly comb a strand from top to bottom, but moving it 'against the grain' creates noticeable resistance and a squeaking sound between your fingers. This is the same mechanism responsible for radiance: the flatter the cuticles lie, the shinier the hair.

Hair Botox and your lifestyle
Hair Botox does not impose strict rules like some straightening treatments — you can return to your daily routine immediately. However, a few small habits will help the radiance last longer.
You can wash your hair as usual. Opt for an SLS-free shampoo — gentle washing 'washes out' the treatment more slowly, so the radiance lasts longer.
Hair Botox works perfectly with colouring — it is often performed during the same visit and smooths the hair after dyeing. The stylist determines the order.
Chlorine and salt are very drying and 'consume' the effect more quickly. After a pool or sea swim, rinse your hair with clean water and apply a leave-in conditioner.
Heat styling is fine — use heat protection to avoid over-drying freshly nourished hair and to prolong the effect's longevity.
A home hydrating mask and leave-in conditioner are your best allies — they prolong softness and smoothness between visits.
Daily 'deep cleansing' shampoos and products with a high amount of SLS accelerate the treatment's washout. Save them for infrequent, thorough washes.
