The first few hours: do not test your glow with your fingers or further cosmetics
Immediately after the treatment, your skin may be smoother, slightly pink and more absorbent. Do not touch it every few minutes, do not squeeze cleansed pores and do not add oils for shine. Leave the care applied in the salon as recommended, unless you experience burning, itching or swelling.
If you must wash your face, use lukewarm water and a mild cleanser without granules, brushes or strong active substances. Dry it by patting with a clean towel. Hot water, vigorous rubbing and multi-stage cleansing will not improve the effect.
The evening after the treatment belongs to mild cleansing and one cream
Remove make-up without scrubbing. If you did not wear any, do not perform cleansing "just in case" several times. You need a simple cream that you know and tolerate. A new mask, ampoule or a cosmetic received as a gift is not a good experiment on freshly treated skin.
Put away retinoids, AHA and BHA acids, enzymatic peels, high concentrations of vitamin C, benzoyl peroxide and home exfoliating devices. The time to return depends on the Geneo variant, the product and your skin's reaction; the salon should provide specific instructions for your routine.
- mild cleansing preparation
- known hydrating cream
- clean pillowcase
- no peeling or brush
- no random samples
The first night does not require sleeping on your back, but it does require a clean surface
Geneo does not inject filler and does not change the position of tissues, so your sleeping position will not "shift the effect". What matters, however, is a clean pillowcase, the absence of a heavy layer of perfumed product and not touching your face. Hair with hairspray or oil should not stick to your cheeks.
If you experience increasing itching, hives, or swelling of the lips or eyelids at night, do not wait for your scheduled follow-up. Contact the salon; in case of breathing difficulties, swelling of the tongue or general symptoms, urgent medical help is needed. An allergic reaction is not a stage of cleansing.
Day one: a filter is more important than a brightening serum
In the morning, use mild cleansing, a cream and broad-spectrum sun protection. Apply the filter in an amount that allows for an even layer and reapply when exposed. A hat and shade help, but do not replace the product. A car or office window also does not mean a total absence of UVA.
Do not try to assess your skin tone in a photo by the window right after applying cream. A hydrated surface reflects light, and the visual effect may be greater than the biological change. This is normal. Geneo can provide quick smoothing and radiance, but it does not remove established discolouration in one session.
Morning plan
protection
- gentle cleansing
- simple cream
- SPF
- shade and sunglasses
Overloading plan
too much activity
- scrubbing
- acids
- new serum
- tanning for a "healthy colour"
Make-up is possible, provided your skin does not protest
If your skin is calm, light make-up can be applied according to the salon's recommendation. Use clean brushes and a sponge, do not rub the foundation in for a long time and do not try to camouflage increasing redness with further layers. Wash it off gently in the evening, without alcohol-soaked wipes.
If your skin stings even without make-up, colour cosmetics may increase the discomfort. Give them up instead of assuming that no downtime is a guarantee of full tolerance. It is better to perform the first treatment well before an important event, as your own reaction cannot be predicted from the service description.
Training, saunas and swimming pools raise the temperature when your skin needs silence
Intensive exercise, saunas, hot yoga and baths increase blood flow and sweat. Salt, towel rubbing and touching your face can intensify redness. Usually, at least a day's break is reasonable, but the practitioner should adjust the recommendation to your reaction and the scope of the treatment.
A swimming pool adds chlorine, shared surfaces and frequent wiping of the skin. The sea means salt and sun. Do not plan Geneo as a treatment performed between a flight and your first time in the water. A one-day glow is not worth irritation for your entire holiday.
Day two: assess comfort, do not look for peeling by force
Your skin should be moving towards full comfort. It may be soft and smooth without visible peeling — the lack of flakes does not mean the treatment was too weak. Oxybrasion is meant to work in a controlled manner, not to create a mandatory recovery period.
If dryness appears, increase simple hydrating care instead of adding acid. If you have spots, do not squeeze them or apply many strong products locally. Take a photo, note the time of appearance and consult the salon, especially if the changes itch or multiply quickly.
- 01
Hours 0–12
Simplicity, no rubbing and observing the reaction.
- 02
Day 1
SPF, clean accessories, a break from heat.
- 03
Day 2
Comfort returns without forced exfoliation.
- 04
Days 3–7
Carefully reintroduce active ingredients if your skin is calm.
Days three and four: reintroduce active cosmetics one by one
If you have no redness, stinging or peeling, you may consider returning to your routine as advised by your cosmetologist. Do not introduce retinol, acids, strong vitamin C and peels all in one evening. Start with one product you know your skin tolerates, using your usual or a lower frequency.
If your skin is reactive, a few extra days of rest is better than following a calendar at all costs. Active ingredients do not lose their efficacy during a short break. If you are treating a skin condition, coordinate your medication schedule with your doctor rather than modifying it based on general cosmetic advice.
- reintroduce one product
- check your reaction until the next day
- do not increase the frequency
- do not make up for missed applications
- stop if you feel stinging

Days five to seven show whether your routine supports the effect or wears it off
By the end of the week, most people return to their regular skincare. UV protection remains mandatory. Observe whether your skin stays calm after washing, whether your make-up applies more evenly and whether any new hypersensitivity has appeared. Your assessment should include comfort, not just radiance.
A quick glow may fade with the skin's normal cycle. This does not mean you must repeat the session immediately. Geneo is not a daily salon peel or a method for permanent pore removal. Your next appointment should be based on your goals and plan, not on the day your foundation stopped looking perfect.
Alarming symptoms require contact, not an online experiment
Call the salon if you experience increasing pain, swelling, blisters, oozing, a widespread rash, persistent strong stinging or symptoms of infection. State the time of onset, the cosmetics used and any medications. A clear photo in daylight helps with assessment but does not replace an examination if the reaction is serious.
Do not apply steroids, antibiotics, alcohol or essential oils on your own. Do not scrub the affected areas and do not cover them tightly. In case of breathing difficulties, fainting, or rapidly increasing swelling of the face or tongue, seek urgent medical assistance; do not wait for a response on social media.
Photos of the effect only make sense under the same conditions
If you want to evaluate the treatment, take a photo before and a week after at the same window, at a similar time, without make-up and without an oily cream. A photo taken immediately after the treatment will also show fresh hydration and different light reflection. It is not a fair sole point of comparison.
Also note your sensations: tightness after washing, the number of new inflammatory lesions, routine tolerance and how long the smoothness lasts. This is a better basis for deciding on a series than a filtered selfie. Geneo can improve appearance and comfort, but it does not change your features or replace dermatological treatment.
The next session is planned based on your reaction, not automatically
A single treatment can serve as a quick refresh. For goals such as texture, skin tone or regular care, your cosmetologist may suggest a series. The interval should take into account the variant, home actives, other procedures and how long it took for your skin to return to full comfort.
If the reaction was stronger, do not repeat the identical protocol just because the package is paid for. First, you must determine the cause: an ingredient, work that was too intense, a conflict with your routine or the condition of your skin. Modification is a sign of control, not a lack of consistency.
Warsaw: take recommendations from your specific visit, not from a universal list
J'ADORE INSTYTUT operates at Żelazna 59 and Mińska 29A/46. Bring a list of retinoids, acids, medications and dates of other treatments to your appointment. After the session, ask us to write down when to return to each important product and which symptoms to report. The scope and contact details are on the Geneo page in Warsaw.
The best skincare after Geneo is usually short: gentle washing, a familiar cream, UV protection and a sensible return to actives. The treatment should leave your skin calmer and smoother. If your plan after it resembles a week-long laboratory project, it probably contains too many elements.
