Two treatments, two philosophies
The simplest way to remember it: Geneo starts from within, HydraFacial from the outside. Geneo triggers a physiological effect — the skin's natural response to carbon dioxide makes tissues "demand" more oxygen and nutrients, and absorb them more readily. HydraFacial works mechanically and in sequence: it clears pores, removes impurities, exfoliates and finally saturates the skin with a serum matched to its needs.
Geneo
revitalisation and oxygenation from within
- tired, grey skin lacking radiance
- mature skin, or skin dehydrated in its deeper layers
- the "someone switched the light on" effect — radiance and density
- can combine lifting effects with intensive hydration
- recommended before an important event — the effect lasts several days
HydraFacial
cleansing, exfoliation and hydration of the skin's surface
- combination or oily skin with enlarged pores
- concerns with blemishes and blackheads
- visible results in cleansing and evening out skin tone
- the serum can be customised to your skin's current condition
- works well as a regular "reset" every few weeks
How to tell what your skin needs — a simple test
Before you book a visit, it's worth observing your skin for a moment. The answers to the questions below usually point the way:
- Does your skin look grey and dull in the morning, as if it hasn't quite woken up? You know the feeling — the coffee has kicked in, but your face hasn't caught up yet. This usually means skin dehydrated in its deeper layers, or tired from stress and lack of sleep → direction: Geneo.
- Does your skin shine in the T-zone, with pores clearly visible on your nose and chin? Your make-up "slides off" before midday, and blackheads are a problem regardless of the season → direction: HydraFacial.
- Is your skin dry but somehow layered — flaking in places, with cream that doesn't absorb as it should? The skin barrier is disrupted, and the surface needs exfoliation and hydration → HydraFacial can be the first step, with Geneo as reinforcement.
- Do you have an important event in 3–5 days and want to look like you've just come back from a week's holiday? → Geneo — the radiance effect lasts for several days and shows up well in photos.
Of course, skin rarely fits neatly into one category. Many people have combination skin — oily in the T-zone, dry on the cheeks — and in that case the best answer isn't "Geneo or HydraFacial", but a conversation with your cosmetologist about what matters most right now.
Before which event — each has its moment
When it's worth combining them
Geneo and HydraFacial aren't mutually exclusive — with the right plan, they can complement each other well. The first rule is simple: we don't combine them on the same day without a consultation. Spaced apart, though, that's absolutely possible.
HydraFacial + Geneo (series)
HydraFacial as the "opener" — it cleanses the surface and evens out the barrier, so Geneo in the next session works on better-prepared skin. Often used in a series for skin that's tired and congested at the same time.
Geneo + needle mesotherapy
Oxygenation improves skin metabolism and its capacity to absorb active ingredients — it lays good groundwork for mesotherapy. The order and intervals are set by your cosmetologist or doctor.
HydraFacial + chemical peels (series)
Regular HydraFacial cleansing can precede or complement a series of peels for blemish-prone skin — it keeps pores clear between sessions.
Both as part of a seasonal plan
Spring and autumn are the classic time for Geneo (a reset after winter, or preparation for it), while HydraFacial works well in summer and for an active lifestyle, as regular "maintenance".
One sentence that sums it all up
If there were only one sentence to sum this up, it would be this: Geneo, when you want your skin to look better "from within" — HydraFacial, when you want it cleaner and hydrated "from the outside". Both can deliver a "wow" effect, but each speaks to the skin in a different language.
The safest route is a short consultation: tell us what's bothering you — a lack of radiance, enlarged pores, tired features, a specific event in your calendar — and your cosmetologist will match not just the treatment, but the timing and any possible combinations. Skincare is rarely about which treatment is "better" — more often, it's about which one is better right now, for you.
