An active infection takes priority over your appointment, your package and any important event
Fever, a general infection, fresh cold sores, purulent lesions, weeping skin and suspected infection in the treatment area are reasons to reschedule your visit. The treatment is not a way to speed up the healing of an infection. The friction of the handpiece and exfoliation can increase irritation and spread microorganisms to the surrounding skin.
Do not cover a lesion with make-up before your consultation. A photo taken the day before helps if the blister has already burst or the rash is changing appearance. Also, mention any symptoms outside of the face. A poorer general state of health matters even if the skin looks calm.
A damaged barrier may look only slightly pink
Stinging after water, sudden intolerance to a moisturiser, a feeling of heat and tightness are more important than the absence of a visible wound. This is how a barrier overloaded by acids, retinoids, a sonic brush, home microdermabrasion or overly intensive cleansing behaves. Adding exfoliation may prolong the problem.
The cosmetologist should ask not only about the cosmetics used in the morning but also about the last few days. A retinoid applied several evenings earlier can still affect your tolerance. There is no single interval that is right for every preparation and concentration. What matters is the product name, frequency and your skin's reaction.
A fresh tan is not proof of healthy, resilient skin
Skin after sun exposure may be warm, dehydrated and affected by micro-inflammation, even without blisters. Erythema, tenderness, peeling and a clear tan line are arguments for a break. Exfoliation will not safely "even out" the colour; it may increase hypersensitivity and unevenness.
Using a filter on the day of your visit does not reverse a previous dose of UV. Provide the date of intensive exposure, sunburn, sunbed use and any planned trips. After the treatment, the skin requires protection, so a session just before the beach is not a sensible shortcut to a glow.
- Reschedule your visit in the event of sunburn or active peeling.
- Do not even out a tan by using a stronger handpiece setting.
- Disclose any medications and herbs that increase photosensitivity.
- Plan UV protection even on a cloudy day.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding require an assessment of the entire variant, not just the name Geneo
Geneo uses capsules with various compositions and stages selected for your goal. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, it is not enough to state that the treatment is superficial. We must assess every ingredient, the current skin reactivity and the rules adopted by our salon. If there is any doubt, the visit is postponed.
Hormonal changes can intensify erythema, hyperpigmentation, acne and product intolerance. A treatment performed previously without any issues is not automatically suitable in a new stage. Do not try to choose a capsule yourself based on a marketing description.
Medications and dermatological treatments change your tolerance threshold
Oral retinoids, topical anti-acne medications, steroids, antibiotics, anticoagulants and therapies affecting healing require discussion. It is not only what you are taking today that matters, but also when the treatment ended. Do not stop taking a medication on your own just to fit the treatment into your calendar.
A good qualification does not end with the question "are you taking any medications?". Write down the names, doses and indications or show us the list on your phone. The cosmetologist may ask for a doctor's opinion or suggest a later date. Such caution is not a flaw in the service.
Useful information
allows for qualification
- medication name
- dose and frequency
- start or end date
- skin reaction
Information that is too general
leaves a risk
- something for acne
- pills from a dermatologist
- acid cream
- almost finished
Treatments performed earlier may require a break, even if the skin looks good
Chemical peels, lasers, microneedling, hair removal, intensive microdermabrasion, injections and energy-based treatments have their own regeneration time. Geneo should not be automatically added a few days later to "boost the effect". The order and interval depend on the depth and reaction.
Tell us about a treatment performed elsewhere, even if you do not remember the device. Look for your booking confirmation or the name of the procedure. The phrase "laser on the face" can mean methods of very different intensity. Without identification, postponing is often the safer decision.
Skin lesions without a diagnosis require a check-up first
A new spot, a non-healing wound, a bleeding lesion, a rapidly growing nodule or a mole that has changed shape are not areas for cosmetic treatment. The handpiece can avoid a single stable mole, but it does not replace a dermatological examination. Do not mask a suspicious lesion with foundation.
The same applies to an unexplained rash: before choosing a "sensitivity" capsule, you must determine whether it is contact allergy, infection or an exacerbation of a dermatosis. The treatment can wait. Losing an appointment is a smaller cost than obscuring the image of the problem.
- a new or changing pigmented lesion
- wounds that do not heal properly
- weeping or honey-coloured crusts
- sudden facial swelling
- a rash after a new medication or cosmetic
Vascular skin is not automatically excluded, but it requires a more delicate decision
Visible vessels and a tendency to redness do not have to mean giving up on Geneo. The activity of the problem matters: persistent redness without stinging is a different situation than hot, exacerbated erythema after the sun, alcohol or a new cosmetic. The parameters, pressure and variant must correspond to your tolerance.
Disclose any diagnosed rosacea, flushing and anything that has recently intensified your symptoms. If your goal is to close vessels, Geneo is not the tool for that task. It can improve the superficial smoothness and comfort of selected skin, but it does not remove telangiectasia.

Allergies matter even if you tolerated a previous capsule.
Changing the variant means changing the active ingredients. A lack of reaction to a moisturising capsule does not prove tolerance for a brightening or sebum-regulating variant. Disclose your contact allergies, cosmetic sensitivities, and any history of swelling after treatments. The ingredient list should be available for you to check before we begin.
Itching, hives, increasing swelling, and shortness of breath after a product are not simple "cleansing". We must stop the treatment immediately and seek urgent help if systemic symptoms occur. Mild stinging also requires assessment; do not wait it out under the assumption that active ingredients must be felt.
Report chronic illnesses and healing disorders even for a mild procedure.
Uncontrolled diabetes, active cancer, severe immune disorders, a tendency for abnormal healing, and exacerbations of autoimmune diseases require caution or disqualification. This list is not exhaustive, as qualification depends on the specific person, medications, and your current condition.
Do not assume that because a procedure is non-invasive, your health history is irrelevant. Superficial disruption of the stratum corneum still requires proper regeneration. If the cosmetologist does not have the basis for a safe decision, they should request a doctor's approval or refuse the treatment.
On the day of your visit, minor symptoms determine safety.
Before you leave, examine your skin in daylight. Pay attention to cracks near the nose, fresh scratches, squeezed spots, chapped lips, eyelid swelling, and redness after training or a sauna. Not every minor issue excludes the entire face, but each one should be shown before cleansing.
Do not perform peels, dermaplaning, waxing, or vigorous brushing in the morning. Arrive without having experimented with a new cosmetic. We can remove your makeup in the clinic, but it should not hide information about a reaction from the previous day.
- 01
Before you leave
Check for redness, wounds, cold sores, and your general condition.
- 02
Before cleansing
Show every skin change and your list of medications.
- 03
After the interview
The cosmetologist selects the variant or reschedules the appointment.
- 04
During the treatment
Report burning, itching, and increasing discomfort.
After a refusal, you need a criterion for returning, not a random new date.
Simply saying "please come back in a week" is sometimes insufficient. For an infection, the criterion may include healing and the end of symptoms; after irritation — the absence of burning, redness, and peeling; after another procedure — a specific interval recommended by the practitioner. Ask what needs to change before re-evaluation.
If symptoms persist or recur, do not postpone the treatment indefinitely without a diagnosis. A dermatological consultation may be a more appropriate next step. Geneo is intended to serve skin that qualifies for cosmetic care, not to mask a problem requiring medical treatment.
Krakow: at Karmelicka, start with a full interview.
J'ADORE INSTYTUT in Krakow is located at Karmelicka 45/2B. Before your visit, prepare the names of your medications, dates of your last peels, lasers, and injections, information about allergies, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and a photo of the reaction if it is less visible today. The scope of the treatment and contact details can be found on the Geneo page in Krakow.
The best result of a consultation does not always end with the device being used. Sometimes it is rescheduling the appointment, changing the capsule, or a referral to a dermatologist. Geneo makes sense when the skin is ready for controlled exfoliation and active ingredients. If it is not, the calendar should give way to biology.
