Smoothness and nourishment
“warm cocoa”

The scent of fresh cocoa, warmth spread across your back by hand, skin left velvety smooth afterwards — the hot chocolate massage is one of the most sensory rituals we offer. It's a warm chocolate (cocoa) mask applied and massaged into the skin: cocoa rich in antioxidants, chocolate that hydrates and nourishes, plus an aroma linked to the "happy hormones".

The result is twofold — a relaxed body, soothed senses, and skin left smoothed and replenished. It's a ritual that simply lifts your mood. At J'adore Instytut, it's performed by a massage therapist / cosmetologist. It's also one of the loveliest gifts — a chocolate massage voucher says "treat yourself" far better than a box of chocolates. Below you'll find everything worth knowing before your first visit.

  • Needing "a day for yourself"
  • Dry, tired skin

How it works

How it works

The hot chocolate massage combines a classic, relaxing massage with body care using a warm cocoa mask. We apply the warmed, aromatic chocolate mask to the skin and massage it in with long, flowing movements — the pleasant warmth relaxes the muscles, while the chocolate nourishes and hydrates the skin at the same time. It's a ritual that works on three senses at once: touch, scent and warmth.

The secret lies in the cocoa itself. It's rich in antioxidants, and the chocolate hydrates and nourishes the skin, leaving it smooth and soft. Then there's the aroma — a deep, sweet cocoa scent linked to pleasure and the "happy hormones". You leave relaxed, in a better mood, with skin that feels velvety to the touch.

Three layers in cross-section: the skin at the surface, the fascia together with the subcutaneous tissue beneath it, and deepest of all the muscles, where tension gathers. A warm cocoa mask works on the skin, while the movement of the massage reaches the fascia and the muscles. The massage therapist matches the pressure to your tolerance.
  1. Neck and shouldershours at a screen, shoulders pulled up to the ears
  2. Between the shoulder bladesdesk work, the back held closed
  3. Lower backsitting, lifting, long drives

Did you know? The scent of cocoa alone can lift your mood before you even feel a hand on your skin — which is why chocolate massage is so often linked with "being pampered". It's a sensory ritual by definition: warmth, sweet aroma and nourished skin come together in a single experience.

Ideal for

Ideal for

  1. Needing "a day for yourself"when you're after a pampering, sensory ritual, not just muscle relaxation.
  2. Dry, tired skincocoa and chocolate butter nourish and hydrate, leaving the body smooth.
  3. Low mood and tensionthe warmth and sweet aroma have a soothing effect and lift your spirits.
  4. Preparing your skin for an occasionbefore the season, a holiday or an important event, when you want velvety skin.
  5. Anyone who loves SPA ritualsand values a full sensory experience, not just a classic massage.
  6. As a gifta voucher for someone close, or a shared chocolate ritual for two.

How is it different from a standard relaxation massage

A relaxation massage mainly aims to calm the nervous system. The chocolate massage adds a strong pampering and sensory dimension — the warm cocoa mask nourishes the skin, and the aroma becomes part of the experience. If you simply want to "switch off", start with the relaxation massage; if you're after pampered senses and smooth skin, choose chocolate. You'll find details of the basic version on a separate page: relaxation massage.

Women's and men's experience

What to expect

For her

Why women choose the chocolate massage

The chocolate massage for women is most often a consciously chosen celebration ritual — "a day for yourself", a gift for a special occasion, or a way to nourish the skin and lift your mood. The sensory setting — warmth, sweet aroma, smooth skin afterwards — is the heart of the experience here, not an extra.

The areas we support

  1. full sensory pampering — warmth, cocoa aroma, velvety skin;
  2. nourishment and hydration for dry body skin, especially in autumn and winter;
  3. the ritual variant (scrub plus chocolate massage) as an extended SPA experience;
  4. the massage as a gift and a celebration — Valentine's Day, Women's Day, an anniversary, "because I deserve it".
For him

Chocolate massage for men — what it's about

The chocolate massage for men is an increasingly popular recovery ritual — a way to relax and nourish dry, tired skin after work, training or the season. The goal is the same: come down from "high gear" while giving skin, which rarely gets this much attention, some care too.

The areas we support

  1. relaxes the neck, shoulders and back while nourishing the skin at the same time;
  2. a "reset" for the senses after a stressful week — warmth and aroma instead of screens;
  3. a firmer, more decisive pressure available on request;
  4. zero downtime — once the massage ends and your skin is cleansed, you go straight back to your day.

For two: the chocolate massage also comes in a couples' version — two tables side by side, one sweet, shared ritual of calm. It's one of the favourite gifts for Valentine's Day and anniversaries. We cover couples' rituals in more detail under SPA Rituals.

When it's better to postpone the massage

The chocolate massage is gentle and safe for most people, but in a few situations we simply postpone the visit until things settle — or ask you to consult a doctor first.

A red flag — when we don't massage
  • Allergy or intolerance to cocoa/chocolate — for sensitive skin, we carry out a patch test first; if you have a known reaction to cocoa, we suggest a different ritual (such as the hot candle massage).
  • Wounds, irritation, fresh scars and skin lesions in the treatment area — we avoid these until healed, so the cocoa mask doesn't irritate the skin.
  • Fever and infection — a cold, flu or a low-grade temperature: we wait until you've recovered.
  • Acute inflammation — a fresh injury, swelling, phlebitis or extensive bruising.
  • Thrombosis or suspected thrombosis — massage is contraindicated here; see a doctor first.
  • First trimester of pregnancy — during this time we don't recommend a relaxation/chocolate massage; ask about massage during pregnancy separately.
  • Chronic conditions and any doubts — consult a doctor before your visit.

This isn't a complete list — if you have any doubts about your health or how your skin might react, tell us when booking or at the start of your visit. We'd rather postpone the massage by a few days than go against your best interests. We also cover general massage contraindications in more detail under relaxation massage.

What to expect

What to expect during your visit

  1. Faza 1.starta conversation about your skin and preferences, a patch test if needed, choosing the setting
  2. Faza 2.sessionmassage with the warm cocoa mask — warmth, aroma, breathing slows down
  3. Faza 3.right afterskin cleansed, moisturised and smooth; mood clearly lifted
  4. Faza 4.that eveningcalmer sleep; skin still soft and nourished the next day
The most common worry: "I'll come out sticky with chocolate." You won't — at the end, we thoroughly remove the mask and moisturise the skin, so you leave velvety smooth, not sticky. The second common request: "please, firmer." The chocolate massage is, by design, a gentle, sensory ritual — but we always adjust the pressure to suit you.

After the massage

How to make the effect last longer

The chocolate massage requires no recovery time — you go straight back to your day. But a few small habits will help skin smoothness and the feeling of relaxation last a lot longer:

  1. Hydration

    drink water after the massage

    After the massage, reach for water and drink it steadily for the rest of the day. Good hydration supports recovery and helps skin stay soft for longer.

  2. Skin care

    don't wash it off with a harsh gel straight away

    Your skin has just been nourished with cocoa — skip aggressive cleansing and harsh products that day. A gentle shower and a moisturising lotion will help the smoothness last longer.

  3. Rest

    let the ritual settle

    If you can, don't dive straight back into the rush of the day. A quiet evening, a warm tea, no screens — that's when the calm and lifted mood work best.

  4. Sleep

    go to bed earlier

    The evening after the massage is a good time for sleep — the body is relaxed, skin is nourished, and the nervous system is calm.

  5. Sun and sunbeds

    be sensible that day

    Right after the ritual, skin is freshly oiled and nourished — skip intense sun exposure or a sunbed that same day, and use SPF as usual day to day.

  6. Intense training

    skip it that day

    Intense exercise right after the massage "revs up" what we've just calmed down, and sweat washes away the fresh layer of nourishment. A light walk is fine; save a heavy workout for the next day.

Frequently asked questions

  1. QuestionWill I be sticky with chocolate afterwards?
    AnswerNo. At the end, we thoroughly remove the cocoa mask and moisturise the skin — you leave velvety smooth and nourished, not sticky. This is one of the most common worries before a first visit, and it's completely unfounded.
  2. QuestionDoes the chocolate massage hurt?
    AnswerIt shouldn't. It's a gentle, sensory ritual focused on relaxation and skin care, not on "working out" the muscles. If you'd prefer firmer pressure, just say so and we'll adjust it as we go.
  3. QuestionWhen will I feel the results?
    AnswerYou'll feel the relaxation, smooth skin and lifted mood straight after your visit. Skin stays soft and nourished the next day too, and you'll build a longer-lasting sense of "self-care" by fitting the ritual into a regular rhythm.
  4. QuestionWon't the chocolate scent be too strong?
    AnswerThe cocoa aroma is part of the experience — deep, but pleasant and soothing, never overpowering. Once your skin is cleansed, only a subtle, warm hint remains, not a "bakery" smell.
