A treatment room at J'adoreMASSAGE & SPA (~30)
Tense shoulders, life on autopilot, sleep that doesn't restore you, a mind that won't switch off — this is what chronic stress looks like before we call it by name. Relaxation massage doesn't treat or mechanically "fix" the body — long, flowing movements with gentle pressure calm the nervous system, so tension leaves the muscles and your mind finally slows down.
It's a ritual of rest: the warmth of hands, music, the scent of oil, sometimes warm stones. You leave feeling lighter, calmer, and you sleep better. At J'adore Instytut, the treatment is performed by a massage therapist / therapist. It also makes a beautiful gift — a relaxation massage voucher says "take care of yourself" better than flowers. Below you'll find everything worth knowing before your first visit.

How it works
Relaxation massage is manual work with long, flowing movements and gentle, even pressure — no vigorous kneading or "breaking up" adhesions. A calm, predictable rhythm of the hands sends a signal to the nervous system: it's safe, you can slow down. The body responds in the only way it knows how — breathing lengthens, muscles let go, thoughts stop racing.
The effect is real, not just pleasant: tension in the shoulders and neck drops, falling asleep becomes easier, and the day's accumulated stress simply lifts. It's one of the simplest and oldest ways to "reset" — no screens, no rushing, no to-do list.

Did you know: slow, rhythmic stroking of the skin is a stimulus our nervous system reads as "safety" — the same mechanism that soothes a baby rocked in someone's arms. That's why, after a good relaxation massage, it's so common to simply want to fall asleep.
Ideal for
Relaxation massage aims for calm — gentle pressure, flowing movements, a sensory setting. Classic massage is firmer, more "working" pressure on specific muscle tension. If you're unsure which to choose, start with relaxation massage — you'll find details on the classic version on a separate page: classic massage.
The women's zone and the men's zone
Relaxation massage for women is most often a deliberately planned "hour for yourself" — a break from mental load, recovery after a busy week, a way to sleep better. The sensory setting (aroma, warmth, music) is part of the effect here, not an extra.
The areas we support
Relaxation massage for men is increasingly seen as part of self-care, not a luxury — a way to "reset" after work and release tension that settles in the neck, shoulders and back extensors. The goal is the same: come down from "high revs" and truly rest.
The areas we support
For two: relaxation massage also comes in a version for couples — two tables side by side, one shared moment of calm. It's one of the favourite gifts for anniversaries and Valentine's Day. You'll find more on shared rituals in our SPA Rituals section.
MASSAGE & SPA (~30)
Relaxation massage is gentle and safe for most people, but in a few situations we simply postpone the visit until the situation has passed — or ask you to see a doctor first.
This isn't a complete list — if you have any doubts about your health, mention it when booking or at the start of your visit. We'd rather postpone the massage by a few days than proceed against good judgement.
What to expect
The most common request: "harder, please." Relaxation massage is gentle by design — but we can always adjust the pressure for you. If you're after really deep work on a specific knot of tension, a classic massage might be a better choice. Tell us at the start — we'll adapt.

After your massage
Relaxation massage doesn't require recovery time — you go straight back to your day. But a few small things can make the feeling of calm and eased tension last much longer:
After the massage, reach for water and sip it calmly through the rest of the day. Good hydration helps your body complete the recovery process and reduces the feeling of heaviness.
If you can, don't jump straight back into things. A calm evening, warm tea, no screens — that's when the calming effect works best.
The evening after a massage is the best time for sleep — your body is relaxed and your nervous system calm. Many clients sleep especially deeply then.
Intense effort right after a massage "revs up" what we just calmed down. A light walk — yes; a hard training session — better the next day.
Strong coffee and alcohol affect the nervous system in the opposite way to massage. For the full effect, it's worth skipping or cutting back on them that day.
The fastest way to erase the immediate effect is going straight back to emails, calls and your to-do list. Give yourself even a few dozen minutes of "buffer" before returning to full speed.
