A treatment room at J'adoreAESTHETIC MEDICINE
From your thirties, skin starts to lose what has long been its natural equipment — collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. Wrinkles are actually a late sign.
Loss of firmness, greyness and thinner skin that no longer reflects light the way it used to come first. A moisturiser hydrates the surface, but it can't rebuild structure from within. Biostimulators and skin boosters work differently to fillers — they don't add volume from outside; they stimulate the skin to rebuild what it produces less of over time. These are treatments for healthier, better-toned skin, not for changing facial shape. At J'adore Instytut, they're performed by an aesthetic medicine doctor or an experienced cosmetologist (depending on the product). Below is everything worth knowing before your first visit.
usually a series of two to four sessions, plus maintenance
What they actually are
Tissue biostimulators and skin boosters are a group of injectable products. Their purpose is not to fill a wrinkle or change facial proportions, but to improve the quality of the skin itself — its density, elasticity, hydration and tone. Instead of "adding" volume from outside, they stimulate the skin to rebuild what it produces less of with age: collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid.
This distinction matters, because these treatments are often confused with fillers. A filler mechanically lifts and fills (a fold, lips, a cheek) — it works instantly and in a specific spot. A biostimulator or skin booster fills nothing — it works at the tissue level, reminding it how it used to function. That's why the effect isn't immediate and isn't about "plumping up". After a few weeks, the skin simply looks healthier, firmer and more rested — in a way that's hard to pinpoint, yet people around you notice.
A skin booster is primarily a hydrating and revitalising product (usually hyaluronic acid-based, often with amino acids). A biostimulator is a broader term that also covers products which stimulate collagen rebuilding more strongly and for longer. In clinical practice, the two groups often overlap within a single plan — which is why we describe them together.
How it works
The term "biostimulators" covers products with different mechanisms. In practice, they work in three complementary ways — and a specialist often combines them in a single plan spread over time.

Did you know? A biostimulator doesn't "insert" a ready-made effect into the skin. It activates your own fibroblasts so they rebuild collagen themselves. That's why the result is yours, natural, and builds over weeks — rather than appearing and fading like ordinary moisturising.
Ideal for
These work both correctively (once changes are already visible) and preventively. Worth considering if you notice:
Treatment areas are most often the face, neck, décolletage and hands, and with selected products, the delicate eye area too. The final choice of product, area and number of sessions is made by a specialist after assessing your skin.
Women's and men's needs
This is most often part of a considered plan of prevention and regeneration: improved hydration and radiance, increased density in thin skin, work on the neck, décolletage and hands, support for the delicate eye area, and, in more mature skin, rebuilding density and supporting facial contour. These are classic biostimulators for women.
The areas we support
The key word is "naturally" — no one wants to look like they've "had something done". The most common goals are reducing signs of tiredness, evening out skin tone, and improving skin condition, which loses density due to sun, oxidative stress, daily shaving and skipped SPF. These are biostimulators for men.
The areas we support
Did you know? The same mechanism — activating fibroblasts — works on thin skin under the eyes, on the scalp, and on hands that "give away age". Facial aesthetics is just the most popular application of stimulation.
Safety
With biostimulators, results and safety depend on three things worth asking about at any salon:
Biostimulators are administered by an aesthetic medicine doctor or an experienced cosmetologist — depending on the product and its protocol. This treatment requires knowledge of anatomy, injection technique, and qualification based on a proper history; choosing the product and injection depth is a decision matched to your specific skin, not a fixed formula.
We work exclusively with products from authorised distributors, maintaining the cold chain and checking expiry dates. Both the result and your safety depend on the quality and authenticity of the product — this isn't a marketing detail.
There's no single "one syringe fits all". The number of injection points, technique (needle or cannula) and area are chosen individually — which is why a consultation is mandatory.
A red flag: a suspiciously cheap skin booster · Good-quality biostimulators come at a real cost. An offer noticeably cheaper than the market average usually means a compromise — on the product, its quantity, or the person administering it. You have the right to ask about the product name, expiry date, and who performs the treatment. A good salon will answer without hesitation. In aesthetic medicine, this isn't the place to cut costs at the expense of safety.
Contraindications
Some contraindications are permanent, others temporary — in the latter case, we simply postpone the treatment until the situation resolves. That's why every visit begins with a consultation.
From the specialist's chair
The most commonly overlooked issue: cold sores. Clients often think "I only get them on my lips, and the treatment is on my cheeks — that shouldn't matter". It does matter — an active virus is a risk wherever it appears. Better to postpone by a few days.
This isn't an exhaustive list — we'll review your medications, health conditions and previous treatments individually at your consultation (and refer you to a doctor where medical concerns arise).

The visit

Consultation
a specialist assesses your skin condition, takes a history (medications, previous treatments, contraindications, allergies), discusses your expectations, and chooses the product and protocol. The approach differs for dehydrated skin versus mature skin with density loss.

Preparation
skin is thoroughly cleansed and disinfected; if needed, we apply numbing cream for comfort.

Administration
the product is injected using a very fine needle or cannula: either at specific points (so-called bio-aesthetic points) or using the nappage technique, evenly covering the area. Each injection takes a few seconds. The whole session takes around 15 minutes.

Instructions and finish
no bandages, usually no break from your daily routine; you'll receive aftercare guidance (mainly SPF and gentle skincare).

Next session
if this is part of a series, we schedule the next appointment; the full effect is assessed once the series is complete.
What to expect
Most important: you won't see a "wow" effect the next day. First, over the initial days and weeks, hydration and radiance improve — often noticeable fairly quickly, especially after skin boosters. Then comes what matters most: greater firmness, elasticity and density — and that takes time, because the skin needs to rebuild its own collagen.
Some clients message us after two days saying "nothing's happening". That's completely normal — a biostimulator takes time, because it's your skin rebuilding collagen, not the product "filling in" the effect. Each session in a series builds on the last; you assess the difference after completing the series, not before.

This is a treatment where patience really pays off. Biostimulators don't replace home care — sun protection, hydration and a good serum remain the foundation, while stimulation reaches where a cream can't.
Biostimulators and your lifestyle
The most common questions aren't about the treatment itself, but about what comes after: training, sauna, sun, facial massage. Most restrictions apply to the first few days — the aim is to avoid worsening swelling, provoking bruising, or displacing the freshly injected product.
Training before the treatment doesn't block anything. After the treatment, avoid intense exercise for around 24 hours — significantly accelerated circulation encourages swelling and bruising.
High temperatures dilate blood vessels and worsen swelling. Sauna, hammam, pool, hot bath — best left until 1–2 days after.
We don't perform this treatment on freshly tanned skin. Afterwards, avoid intense sun and sunbeds for a few days — and after that, daily SPF 50+ is essential.
This matters: don't massage the face for around two weeks, until the product has settled. Also avoid massaging injection points during the first 24 hours.
Alcohol dilates blood vessels and increases the risk of bruising — best avoided on the day of treatment and the day after.
Hold off on strong acids and retinol until the effect has stabilised (or as advised) — keep skincare gentle. Makeup is usually fine from the next day, on cleansed skin.
