Injection lipolysis — treatment at J'adore Instytut

Injection lipolysis

A series of injections that dissolve small, diet-resistant fat deposits — double chin, love handles, abdomen, knees. This treatment doesn't slim you down and it doesn't replace liposuction: dissolved fat cells don't return, but the treatment doesn't tighten the skin.

AESTHETIC MEDICINE

Small deposits reduced
“point by point”

A "double chin" that spoils your jawline despite a slim figure. Love handles and a fold on the abdomen that hold on tight despite diet and training. "Rolls" on the back, or a small deposit on the knees.

These are areas that seem to resist everything you do — because the problem isn't your weight. It's a small, stubborn, localised excess of fat. Injection lipolysis is a series of precise injections that dissolve these small deposits. Importantly — and we say this honestly at consultation — it's not a weight-loss method and not a substitute for liposuction. It's a treatment with a clear, expected swelling response. At J'adore Instytut, it's performed by a doctor or experienced cosmetologist. Below you'll find everything worth knowing before your first visit — including what other clinics prefer not to mention.

  • A "double chin"
  • Love handles and a fold on the abdomen
  • Knees, back, arms

How it works

How it works

Injection lipolysis involves injecting a preparation (usually based on deoxycholic acid) into fatty tissue, which disrupts and dissolves the membranes of fat cells (adipocytes). The body then removes the released fat naturally — gradually, over weeks. Deoxycholic acid is a substance that occurs naturally in the body and takes part in fat digestion; applied locally, it works exactly where we want it to.

Most importantly: dissolved fat cells don't regenerate. So within the treated area, the result is permanent. However, this treatment works on small, localised deposits resistant to diet and exercise — it targets fat, not overall weight and not skin quality.

Three layers in cross-section: the epidermis together with the dermis at the surface, the subcutaneous adipose tissue beneath them, and deepest of all the fascia and the muscle. The needle passes through the skin and leaves the formula in the fat deposit, in a grid of fine injections. The doctor sets the number of points and the dose during the consultation.

  2. Subcutaneous adipose tissuethe deposit the formula goes into

Ideal for

Ideal for

  1. A "double chin"when it spoils your jawline despite a slim figure.
  2. Love handles and a fold on the abdomensmall, diet-resistant "pockets".
  3. Knees, back, armssmall deposits, such as "rolls" under a bra band.
  4. Normal or slightly elevated weightwhen the problem is localised excess, not overall weight.
  5. Readiness for a seriesresults build up over several sessions, not one visit.
  6. Acceptance of the post-treatment responsea few days of noticeable swelling and tenderness.
  7. Skin elasticity in the specific area also matters — it's assessed by a specialist to predict whether the skin will settle nicely after fat reduction, or whether it will need extra tightening.

Female zones and male zones

What differs

For her

Injection lipolysis and female anatomy — what's worth knowing

Most often, the focus is on the "double chin", love handles, knees, a small fold on the abdomen, or "rolls" on the back — areas that can resist diet and training despite a slim figure. The goal is precise and localised: bringing the area in line with the rest of your figure, not losing weight. This is classic injection lipolysis for women.

The areas we support

  1. a double chin spoiling the facial contour;
  2. love handles and a small fold on the abdomen;
  3. knees and "rolls" on the back (under the bra band);
  4. a localised goal: matching the area to the rest of your figure.

For him

Injection lipolysis and male anatomy — why some zones don't respond to training

Above all, a double chin and a more defined jawline, along with the abdomen and love handles ("love handles"). Men particularly value the fact that the change is gradual and natural — without a sudden, obvious transformation that no one is asking about. This is injection lipolysis for men.

The areas we support

  1. double chin → a more defined jawline;
  2. abdomen and love handles — typical "handles";
  3. goal: a discreet, gradual change without a "makeover effect";
  4. zero dramatic downtime — you're back to your day the same day (with some swelling).

Did you know: the same deoxycholic acid used here to dissolve fat is something the body produces itself — as a component of bile that helps digest fat from meals. Lipolysis simply harnesses this natural ability locally, wherever a deposit is stubborn.

Safety

What really determines the result

With lipolysis, results and safety depend on a few things worth asking about at any salon:

  1. Who performs it

    The treatment is performed by a doctor of aesthetic medicine or an experienced cosmetologist — depending on the preparation and protocol. This is an injectable treatment where the preparation is metabolised by the body, so technique and hygiene matter.

  2. Whether qualification was done properly

    A thorough medical history is key (liver, kidneys, pregnancy, medication, among others). A good specialist distinguishes "the right indication" (a small, stubborn deposit) from "the wrong one" (obesity, large areas) — and sometimes advises against the treatment outright.

  3. Whether the preparation is genuine

    We work exclusively with preparations from authorised distributors. What is injected and how determines both the result and its safety.

A red flag: suspiciously cheap lipolysis and promises of "no trace" · A bargain price is a common warning sign — for a treatment where the preparation is metabolised by the body, provenance and proper qualification matter as much as technique. Another warning sign: a salon that promises "instant results with no trace". Lipolysis comes with a clear, expected post-treatment response — a good salon warns you about the swelling and explains the process, rather than hiding it.

Contraindications

When to postpone the treatment

Some contraindications are permanent (or require individual assessment by a doctor), while others are temporary — in that case, we simply postpone the treatment until the situation passes.

We don't perform it
  • Obesitythis is not an indication for lipolysis (the treatment targets small, localised deposits, not overall body weight reduction).
  • Liver and kidney conditionsthe preparation is metabolised and excreted by the body, so a doctor determines eligibility.
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • Autoimmune conditions in an active flare
  • Active cancer or ongoing oncological treatmentindividual assessment required.
  • Allergyto a component of the preparation.
  • Active herpeseven when the outbreak is outside the injection site (for example, on the lip or near the nose); we wait until it has fully healed.
  • Other active infections, inflammation, and unhealed woundsin the treatment area.
  • Anticoagulant medication or clotting disordersthe decision is made by a doctor.
  • Fever and general infectionwe wait until you've recovered.

From the specialist's chair

The most commonly overlooked issue: herpes. "I only have it on my lip, and the lipolysis is under my chin — that shouldn't matter." It does matter — an active virus is a risk regardless of where it appears, including outside the injection site. It's better to postpone by a few days until it's healed.

This isn't a complete list — a specialist determines eligibility at consultation, and refers you to a doctor for general health conditions (particularly of the liver, kidneys, or when taking anticoagulants).

What to expect

An honest look at the swelling

Most importantly: lipolysis is a treatment with a pronounced post-treatment response — and that's exactly how it's supposed to work. You won't see the reduction effect immediately; it appears over weeks and builds through the series.

  1. Faza 1.first daysnoticeable swelling and tenderness — the area may look "worse"; cooling and hydration
  2. Faza 2.around one weekswelling and firmness gradually subside; return to full activity
  3. Faza 3.following weeksthe reduction effect appears; we plan the next session in the series
  4. Faza 4.after the seriesfinal result in that zone — lasting, provided weight is maintained
After two days, some people write "I'm swollen and it's worse than before". That's exactly how it's meant to look — swelling is part of the process of breaking down and removing fat. This is why we never plan lipolysis right before an important event, and we don't judge the result after one visit or a few days.

What's normal after the treatment (expected, not a complication)

  • significant swelling — especially under the chin, where it can last several days and be genuinely noticeable;
  • tenderness, a burning sensation, firmness and lumpiness under the skin;
  • sometimes bruising and temporary redness;
  • in the first few days, the area may look "worse" than before the treatment — this is the stage when the body is breaking down and removing fat.

Removed fat cells disappear permanently, but that doesn't mean the area is "protected forever": the remaining cells in that zone can enlarge with significant weight gain. That's why maintaining a stable weight is key for lasting results.

Lipolysis and your lifestyle

What you can do, and when

The first few days are about supporting the body as it removes the dissolved fat and easing swelling. The rule is simple: we don't want to increase swelling or bruising, and we want to help the body "flush out" the broken-down fat.

  1. Cold compresses

    first days

    Cooling the treated area in the first few days helps with swelling and tenderness — follow your specialist's guidance.

  2. Hydration

    daily

    Drinking plenty of water supports the body in removing dissolved fat — this genuinely helps the process, not just "a healthy habit".

  3. Gym and exertion

    skip it for a few days

    Light movement doesn't block anything beforehand. After the treatment, skip intense exercise for a few days (return to heavier training after about a week) — increased circulation encourages swelling and bruising.

  4. Sauna and hot baths

    hold off

    High temperatures dilate blood vessels and increase swelling — put off the sauna and hot baths for the first few days.

  5. Alcohol

    skip it around the treatment

    Alcohol burdens the metabolism that's breaking down fat and encourages bruising — best to skip it the day before and after, and during the first few days.

  6. Massaging the area

    only recommended drainage

    Don't massage the treated area yourself in the first few days. Lymphatic drainage — yes, but only as a treatment recommended by your specialist, spaced appropriately.

We put off sunbathing and sunbeds on the treated area until healing is complete; use SPF daily as usual. If your specialist recommends compression garments (for example, on the abdomen), wear them as instructed. And most importantly: maintaining your weight is the condition for lasting results.

Injection lipolysis

Frequently asked questions

  1. QuestionWill lipolysis make me lose weight?
    AnswerNo. This treatment targets small, localised, stubborn fat deposits — it's not a weight-reduction method. It's not indicated for obesity — in that case, weight reduction comes first, with lipolysis potentially used afterwards on whatever remains stubborn.
  2. QuestionIs the result permanent?
    AnswerDissolved fat cells don't come back. But with significant weight gain, the remaining cells in the area can enlarge — so lasting results depend on maintaining a stable weight.
  3. QuestionHow many treatments do I need?
    AnswerUsually a series of several sessions, a few weeks apart; the number depends on the area and amount of tissue (the chin usually needs fewer, the abdomen and love handles more). Results aren't judged after a single visit.
  4. QuestionWhen will I see results?
    AnswerNot immediately. Reduction appears over weeks and builds through the series — a single session rarely gives the final result.
