A treatment room at J'adoreMEDICAL PEELS
Grey, dull, "tired-looking" skin — with no radiance, an uneven tone, sometimes hyperpigmentation left over from summer. This is one of the most common reasons you come to the salon: it's not about one specific wrinkle, it's about the whole complexion losing its freshness.
C Peel (Mediderma/Sesderma) is a vitamin C peel designed specifically for this problem — instead of exfoliating aggressively, it focuses on brightening, evening out skin tone and antioxidant protection. Vitamin C is one of the best-studied "brighteners" in cosmetology: it brightens, supports an even tone and helps skin defend itself against free radicals. That's why this peel is often used as a "radiance boost" alongside other treatments, or as a quick refresh before an important event. It's a treatment for skin that needs light, not punishment. At J'adore Instytut it's performed by an experienced cosmetologist. Below you'll find everything worth knowing before your first visit.

How it works
C Peel is a brightening peel with vitamin C from the Mediderma/Sesderma range. Vitamin C (ascorbic acid and its derivatives) is one of the best-studied active ingredients in skincare — it works as an antioxidant (neutralising the free radicals responsible for grey, fatigued-looking skin) and as a brightener (supporting a more even skin tone). Combined with acids, it gently exfoliates the surface of the epidermis, revealing fresher, brighter skin underneath.
This is what sets C Peel apart from "classic", heavily exfoliating peels: instead of aggressively dissolving the stratum corneum, this treatment brightens, evens out skin tone and nourishes the skin with an antioxidant. There's no dramatic visible flaking here — and that's the point. That's why C Peel belongs to the category of peels for grey, fatigued skin and radiance, rather than the strongest exfoliating peels.
In the salon, C Peel often plays the role of a "radiance boost" — either on its own, for a quick pre-event brightening, or as part of a wider brightening protocol. Whether C Peel alone is enough, or whether it's better combined with another brightening peel (such as Ferulac or Mandelac), is decided by your cosmetologist during the consultation.

Ideal for
Women's needs and men's needs
For women, C Peel is most often the answer to grey, fatigued skin with no radiance — after winter, after summer, after sleepless nights. Vitamin C brightens, evens out skin tone and helps combat minor hyperpigmentation. We often combine it with other brightening peels in a series. This is the classic C Peel for women.
The areas we support
Men's skin is thicker and more often oily, with the added factor of acne scars and usually no habit of using SPF. C Peel brightens grey, fatigued skin and improves skin tone with no "just came from the salon" look. This is C Peel for men.
The areas we support
Worth knowing: vitamin C is the same antioxidant the body uses in collagen production — without it, collagen simply can't form properly. So this peel isn't just about "stripping" the epidermis: vitamin C is there to brighten, protect skin from free radicals, and support it from the repair side. That's why C Peel is considered one of the gentlest, most "nourishing" peels.
Safety
A chemical peel sounds simple — "put acid on your face" — and that's exactly why it's easy to get wrong. Three things determine the result and its safety, and they're worth asking about in any salon:
This is a beauty treatment — at J'adore it's performed by an experienced cosmetologist, who assesses your phototype, skin condition, previous treatments and contraindications. A peel done "without a consultation and without a phototype assessment" is a quick route to irritation or hyperpigmentation.
We use exclusively genuine Mediderma/Sesderma products sourced legally. Vitamin C is a sensitive ingredient — a product "from an unknown source" or stored incorrectly can be oxidised and ineffective, with unpredictable concentration and pH.
C Peel is meant to brighten and nourish, not "strip the skin". What matters is matching the treatment to your skin and building a sensible series plan, not maximum intensity at the first visit.

Contraindications
Some contraindications are permanent, others temporary — in the latter case, we simply postpone the treatment until the situation resolves. This is a chemical peel, so skin condition, phototype and exfoliation-related factors matter most here.
From the cosmetologist's chair
The thing people most often forget about with peels isn't the product itself, but sun exposure and phototype. Someone arrives "straight from holiday" or with a trip planned in a few days, and is surprised when I advise against the peel. It's not a whim — a fresh tan combined with full sun and no SPF is the easiest route to hyperpigmentation, the exact opposite of what you're trying to achieve, especially when the goal is evening out skin tone.
This isn't a complete list — pregnancy, chronic conditions, medications, phototype and previous treatments are all reviewed individually during consultation. With peels, more than with most treatments, sensible selection matters far more than "stronger and faster".

A chemical peel is a recognised trigger for reactivating cold sores (Herpes). We don't perform a peel on active cold sores — we postpone until they've fully healed. If you deal with recurrent cold sores, be sure to mention this during consultation — for medium-depth peels, it's worth discussing antiviral prevention in advance to reduce the risk of a flare-up after the treatment.
What to expect
Most important: this is a gentle, brightening peel, not "heavy exfoliation". You'll see radiance and a fresher tone almost immediately, but evening out hyperpigmentation and locking in the effect build over a series — a single session is a great "instant glow", not the final result. After the treatment, you'll usually just see slight redness, with no visible flaking.
The most common disappointment after the first session is: "I thought I'd flake heavily and the hyperpigmentation would disappear straight away." That's not how C Peel works — it's a peel that brightens and nourishes, not one that "strips" the epidermis. Flaking may be minimal or absent, yet skin looks brighter and more radiant with each session. With hyperpigmentation, patience and a series achieve more here than one strong treatment.
After the series, we maintain the effect with less frequent treatments and appropriate home care (including a vitamin C serum). The most important "home" condition for lasting results is daily SPF 50+ — the peel brightens and evens out skin tone, but unprotected sun exposure can quickly undo this and deepen hyperpigmentation.

C Peel and your lifestyle
With peels, most questions aren't about the treatment itself but about what comes after: sun, makeup, sauna, home acids, exercise, holidays. There's one rule — for a few days after a peel, skin is more sensitive to UV and irritation, so we protect it and don't overload it.
This matters most with peels — especially with vitamin C and hyperpigmentation. After exfoliation, skin reacts more easily to UV; without daily SPF 50+ you risk hyperpigmentation and loss of radiance. Skip intense tanning and sunbeds for the duration of the series.
Give your skin a rest on the day of the peel itself. Makeup is usually fine from the following day — before that, focus on hydration and SPF rather than foundation.
High temperatures intensify redness, and chlorinated water irritates freshly exfoliated skin. It's best to postpone sauna, hammam and pool visits for a few days.
After the peel, avoid retinol, strong AHA/BHA acids and coarse home exfoliants. Applying actives to freshly exfoliated skin is the most common cause of irritation. A vitamin C serum can usually continue — check this with your cosmetologist.
Intense exercise and heavy sweating right after a peel can sting and intensify redness. Training before the treatment doesn't cause any issues — just give your skin a moment of calm afterwards.
A peel just before a holiday in full sun (or a series done in summer without SPF discipline) risks hyperpigmentation. Planning a trip? Mention it during consultation — we'll choose the timing and strength accordingly.

This text is for information only and does not replace a consultation. C Peel is a beauty treatment (a brightening peel with vitamin C from Mediderma/Sesderma) — the term "medical peel" refers to the class of product, not to the treatment being performed by a doctor. The choice of peel, its strength, the series and any contraindications are decided by a cosmetologist/specialist during an individual consultation, based among other things on an assessment of skin phototype and skin condition.
