Men's manicure for men

Your hands speak — before you do

This is manicure for men in its purest form: matter-of-fact, discreet, no colour. The goal is well-groomed, masculine hands — even, short nails, smooth skin, zero "salon effect". What counts is presentation: a handshake, a meeting, a close-up photo.

When it's worth it — indications

  • Business and image — when you shake hands, run meetings, present, or appear in profile photos.
  • Work with people, up close — medicine, hospitality, sales, consulting: your hands are always on display.
  • Brittle, splitting nails — a clear hybrid coat strengthens the plate for several weeks.
  • Cuticle problems — bitten or dried-out cuticles, hangnails — grooming and recovery.
  • Athletes and active lifestyles — Japanese manicure with no polish: a healthy shine, zero sign of "styling".
  • Grooming for an occasion — a wedding, an important event, a photo session — your hands are in the pictures too.
  • Simply keeping things in order — for anyone who treats well-groomed hands the same way as a clean shirt.

The areas we work on

  1. classic, no colour — trimming, cuticle grooming, smooth hand skin;
  2. clear hybrid — a colourless coat that strengthens brittle nails;
  3. Japanese (no polish) — a natural, healthy shine, a favourite among athletes;
  4. matte or satin instead of shine — a finish you won't notice at first glance.

Your hands speak — before you do

Men's manicure isn't an aesthetic treatment in the way that word is usually understood for women. It's a standard of presentation — as natural as a well-chosen shirt or well-kept shoes. A handshake at a meeting, a gesture at the whiteboard, a close-up in your LinkedIn profile photo — well-groomed hands make an impression before you say a word. Untidy ones do too.
At J'adore Instytut, men's manicure means: even, short nails, cuticles free of hangnails, smooth skin on your hands, and a finish that people won't call a manicure — they'll simply call it well-groomed hands. We perform the treatment with a nail stylist, following a separate protocol — no coloured polish, no women's-salon effect.

The three concerns we hear most often

Will it look feminine? No. With a masculine finish — matte, no colour, a natural shine — no one around you will say "he's had a manicure". They'll say "he's got neat hands". That's exactly the goal: invisible as a treatment, visible as presentation.
Does it hurt? No. The stylist tidies the cuticles without aggressive cutting, and a softening soak comes before that step. If you have hangnails or dry cuticles, you may feel slight sensitivity during the treatment — that's it. You leave with no healing period at all.
Once is fine, but why go regularly? Paradoxically, doing it regularly is easier than dealing with things once in a while. Every few weeks, in step with nail growth, your hands stay in good form. No monitoring, no hangnails suddenly noticed before an important meeting.

Which variant — the logic behind the choice

You're not choosing a colour. You're choosing a level of discretion — and whether your nail plate needs strengthening:
The stylist chooses the variant during your consultation — just say directly: "nothing visible" or "my nails keep breaking".
  • Classic, no colour — trimming, cuticle grooming, smooth skin. The most common choice for a first visit.
  • Clear hybrid — a colourless coat that hardens the nail plate for several weeks. Invisible, protects against breaking. Recommended for physical work and training.
  • Japanese (no polish) — the nail plate is nourished with a paste and buffed to a healthy, satin shine. Looks like naturally healthy nails. A favourite among athletes and men who value maximum discretion.

Care between visits — what actually works

Two habits make the difference: cuticle oil and hand cream — literally a moment in the morning or evening. This maintains the result, reduces hangnails and slows down skin dryness after work with tools, water or the gym. If you have a clear hybrid coat, wear gloves when handling chemicals and detergents. Everything else is unrestricted: training, water, the pool.

Frequently asked questions

I go to the gym several times a week — will the manicure survive it?
Yes. With the classic variant, there's no restriction at all, right from the start. With a clear hybrid coat, the nail plate is additionally strengthened, so training won't damage it. The only rule: wear gloves when handling chemicals, and skip a long soak on the same day as your treatment.
My nails keep breaking — will a manicure actually help?
It depends on the cause. If the plate is soft or thin, a clear hybrid coat makes a real difference — it protects against breaking for several weeks. If you notice discolouration, thickening or the plate lifting, a diagnosis comes first (podologist, dermatologist) — a manicure doesn't mask changes that need assessment.
How long does it take, and when should I come back?
It's a short visit — easy to fit into your day. You come back every few weeks, in step with nail growth. With a clear hybrid coat, come back before the coating grows out. A regular service is simpler than keeping watch yourself: your hands stay in good form, with no sudden "I need to sort this out" moment.
Do I need to do anything at home to maintain the result?
Two things: cuticle oil and hand cream. Without them, the result fades faster, and cuticles return to dryness and hangnails sooner. With them, you get several weeks of good condition with no real effort.
Can I get my feet done at the same time?
Yes — we combine men's manicure with men's pedicure in a single visit. It's a separate service, not the same procedure. If you have ingrown nails or a callus, that's podology — a different specialist, a different method.
